Metro station "Alekseevskaya" on Prospect Mira

The Alekseevskaya metro station of the Kaluga-Rizhskaya line is located on Mira Avenue, one of the central highways of the capital. In her more than half a century of history, she changed the names several times. In the operating system it entered in 1958 under the name "Mir". This toponym echoed the name of the avenue, where its only vestibule came out. When in 1966 the transfer station on the Circle Line was renamed the Prospect Mira, I had to think that the name of the station (Mir), located just two distances, somehow strongly resembles it. To avoid confusion, the station was named "Shcherbakovskaya". Thus, the memory of a prominent figure in the Stalin era, who died suddenly in May 1945, was immortalized. Its current name - the metro station "Alekseevskaya" - the station found in the fall of 1990. It contains a reference to the historical designation of the Moscow region. Under this name, it is known to the modern generation of Muscovites and guests of the capital, who often use the metro.

"Alekseevskaya" on the subway map

Kaluzhsko-Rizhskaya line of the Moscow metro is indicated on the metro scheme with a traditional orange color. "Metro Alekseevskaya" is located on it between the points "Riga" and "VDNH". If to speak of a constructive solution, then this is a three-vaulted pylon station of deep laying. When it was erected in the late fifties, engineering innovation was introduced and a new construction technology - the inclined tunnel of the escalator here passed from the bottom up. In the future, such a time-use was repeatedly used by Moscow metro builders in the construction of other deep-lying stations. In the decorative finish of the subway station "Alekseevskaya", marble and granite of soft colors prevail. Very impressive look dark green marble decorative elements of pylons on a light background. The floor is made of red Ural granite, the travel walls on the bottom are faced with greenish tiles. At the base of the pylons there are small benches. The room is lit with rows of round chandeliers with luminescent tubes. Escalators are located in the end part of the station.

Prospekt Mira, metro station "Alekseevskaya"

The station has one ground vestibule overlooking the Prospect Mira. Not far from the exit is Novoalekseevskaya street. The ground part is solved in the form of a semicircular rotunda with colonnades at the entrance and exit. The space in front of the entrance to the station is traditionally a lively trading platform. There are also stops of land transport modes. Under the underground passage you can get to the tram stop and to the opposite side of the street. Prospekt Mira is a wide Moscow thoroughfare, heading north from the Garden Ring. The metro area "Alekseevskaya" is built up with characteristic high-rise buildings in the style of the so-called Stalin Empire. In real estate circles apartments in similar houses are quoted very highly. In addition to the prestigious housing in this area, there are many shops, restaurants and other entertainment venues.
