The drug "Vazonit-Retard" improves microcirculation and rheological properties of blood, has a vasoconstrictive effect. The active component - pentoxifylline - is a derivative of xanthine.

The drug "Vazonit" promotes the inhibition of phosphodiesterase and the accumulation of cAMP in smooth muscle cells of blood vessels, in the blood constituents, organs and tissues. The drug slows the aggregation of erythrocytes and platelets, increasing their elasticity. Characterizing the mechanism of action of the drug "Vasonitis", the instruction indicates its properties to reduce the plasma content of fibrinogen, to enhance fibrinolysis. This leads to a decrease in the viscosity of the blood. Along with this, rheological properties (fluidity) also increase. The drug helps to improve the flow of oxygen in the tissue in areas with circulatory disorders (in the limbs, kidneys, CNS, including). The medicine has a slight dilating effect on the vessels.

When administered orally, the active ingredient is uniformly and continuously released and absorbed from the digestive system. The maximum concentration of pentoxifylline and its metabolites is reached after three or four hours. The therapeutic concentration remains for 12 hours. Excretion is carried out by the kidneys.

The drug "Vasonit" instructions for use recommends for disorders in the peripheral circulation (with Raynaud's disease, diabetic angiopathy, obliterating endarteritis). Assign a medicine for angioedema, dyscirculatory and atherosclerotic encephalopathy.
