Toys-pillows are not only funny in appearance and interesting to children. They can perfectly transform the interior of any room. We suggest you learn how to make patterns of soft pillow toys and sew on them.

What materials are better to choose for making pillows?

To sew children's pillow-toys, it is best to use fabrics made of natural materials and quality fillers. This can be cotton, linen, fleece, nonwoven, plush. You can also make a pillow of unwanted knitted sweaters and sweaters. The main thing is that the material is clean.

As a filler most often choose holofayber, sintepon or special balls. It is worth noting that the pillow with the last packing will be quite stiff.

How to sew decorative cushions?

The process of sewing, as in any other case, begins with the construction of a pattern of pillow toys with their own hands. It can be drawn in two ways:

1. You take as a basis a pillow of the usual form (square or rectangular) and draw decorative elements (for example, eyes, wings, a tail, paws and so on).
2. You draw a pillow that resembles an animal, an object, and the like. Such patterns can be either integral or those where each element will be sewn separately.

When everything is ready, the patterns of pillow toys, created by oneself, cut out and applied to the fabric. Then the details are made from rags. Then everything is sewn and filled with filler.

As you can see, everything is quite simple.

We sew a pillow in the shape of a lamb

Very cute is a toy-pillow sheep. A pattern for sewing is made on three sheets.

Master class, how to make a pillow in the shape of a lamb:

1. Attach the pattern to the fabric and cut out the following number of elements: four legs, two muzzles and a lug, two trunks (picture 1). Do not forget that you need to connect the front and back of the body.
2. Sew each part with its own pair, except the trunk, leaving small holes to one side (picture 2).
3. Then connect all the parts to each other with pin-pins and sew the trunk along the contour (picture 3).
4. Fill the pillow with filler and sew up the hole (picture 4).

Wonderful toy-pillow is ready!

It is not necessary to make a pillow this way. You can sew a sheep with a body-cloud from a homemade pattern of pillow toys. Draw your own drawing of a cloud, hands and faces. The latter must be sewn onto the body.

Instructions how to sew a pillow toy:

1. Cut out all elements of the pattern of pillow toys with your own hands.
2. Pin each piece onto the appropriate fabric and cut it (Illustration 1).
3. As a result, you will have two parts of the trunk, eyes, wings, four legs and one beak and a pussy.
4. Sew on the front of the trunk of the owl eyes, pusiko, beak and wings (Figure 2).
5. Sew the paws in pairs, leaving a hole on top. Fill the parts with filler (Figure 3).
6. Sew the feet to the front of the pillow (Figure 4).
7. Cut out the strip of fabric. The volume of the pillow toy depends on its width.
8. Sew a strip to the obverse of the owl along the outline (Figure 5).
9. Sew the back of the pillow to the strip, but not to the end.
10. Push the filler into the left hole (Figure 6).
11. Sew a hole with a hidden seam.

The toy-pillow is ready in the shape of an owl ready!

Tip: if you only sew a pussy on three sides and leave a hole on top, you will get an owl-pillow with a pocket. If desired, you can make Velcro, and then it will be closed. It is undesirable to sew a snake, because the work is a pillow more than a toy.

Sew a pillow toy for the neck in the form of a giraffe

Pillows for the neck can be not only comfortable, but also funny. Often you can find such accessories in the form of a cat, dogs, ducks, bears and so on. In the form of a pillow like a roller, but such details as paws, ears, tail, give it affection.

Masterclass on sewing the original neck cushion in the form of a giraffe:

1. Translate the pattern on the fabric.
2. You should get the next number of necessary details: two trunks, four rectangles-legs, eight hoofs, one tail, four ears, two horns.
3. Fold the tail part in half and sew it, leaving the hole on top.
4. Sew on each part of the foot on one side of two hooves.
5. Then fold the part in half and sew them, leaving the hole on top.
6. Sew the ear pieces in pairs.
7. Sew the ears and fill them with filler.
8. In the legs and tail, pour the filler using a wooden stick.
9. Sew on the front of the pillow eyes, ears, horns, tail and all legs.
10. Sew together the ready front part of the giraffe and its back.
11. Fill the pillowcase tightly with a filler and sew a toy.
