Maserati Boomerang: all the fun about the unusual Italian concept car

Maserati Boomerang - this is perhaps the most challenging concept car, which was only produced by this concern. In any case, for the twentieth century, for sure. After all, before the views of car enthusiasts and critics, this incredible futuristic car appeared in 1971. So, the machine is really capable of surprising, so it's worth telling about its advantages as much as possible.

Appearance

All specialists of the concern together with professional designers for a long time thought about what will be the future Maserati Boomerang. Unambiguously, something was planned that was surprising, unusual, something that had not happened before. As a result, a design was selected, which specialists conceived as what would determine the images of future models for the next many years. The wedge shape is the main feature of the exterior. But it turned out really extremely futuristic: bold lines, oddly shaped low body, which looked very aerodynamic and wide. All this created the impression of a powerful racing car.

If you look at it from the side, you can understand that the whole design is a single, ideally straight line that rushes from the tip of the nose and to the top of the roof. Another eye catches a windscreen with a very large angle of inclination. And the sides of the car are two flat surfaces cut in half by a waist line. And finish the image of the glass, embedded in the lower half of the doors and powerful cast wheels.

Salon

The interior of the Maserati Boomerang looks as unusual as the exterior of the car itself. Experts, deciding that the salon should be as practical as possible, ergonomic, beautiful and impeccable, spent a lot of time and energy on its development. And it turned out pretty minimalist and sporty interior, which very successfully emphasizes the futuristic style of this model.

An innovative dashboard rushes into the eyes, which is different in that all the control tools are ... at the center of the rudder. There is a separate panel. It also comes out from behind the barrel-shaped shield of the priors. The rudder is fixed around its rim - thus it turns out to rotate freely around the dials located in the middle. And the most prominent element is a large tachometer.

A massive console is divided into two front seats. By the way, the chairs have an interesting bucket-like shape (similar to those that were installed in those times in racing cars). All that is in the cabin, high-quality leather - armchairs, door panels, etc.

Specifications

A car like the Maserati Boomerang, reviews are extremely positive. And this is not surprising. After all, many modern models of some brands can not boast of such technical characteristics that this car from the seventies is equipped with. Powerful naturally aspirated V8 engine capable of producing 306 horsepower! Its maximum speed is more than 300 kilometers per hour! And up to "hundred" this car accelerates in less than seven seconds.

The weight of the car is quite small - 1400 kilograms. With this weight, the dimensions of the car are 4342 mm in length, 1860 mm in width and only 1070 mm (slightly more than a meter!) In height. At the heart of the chassis is a monocoque made of steel, reinforced with two stretchers. The wheels are equipped with ventilated brake discs. They, in addition, are also equipped with amplifiers.
