"Tavria" ZAZ-1102: specifications and photos

"Tavria" refers to cars of the 2nd class (budget models). Initially, it was produced in a Soviet factory, but later the bulk began to go off the assembly line of the same, but already Ukrainian ZAZ. The first exclusive copy became a "parent" for a huge number of different models and their modifications, which were combined into a giant series.

With ease you can recall about 40 different cars. It is worth noting that they enjoyed high demand from the domestic buyer. The end of the large-scale issue was held in 2007.

History of the development of the Tauria-1102 ZAZ

The development of the new (at that time) "Tavria" car started because of the need to replace the Cossack 966 model. By the 70th years, two variants of the car in the form of a sedan and a hatchback were created. But the permit for production was received only after 10 years. After the release of a large batch of management changed the task of this machine. It was stipulated that the model should have a similarity with the leader of European sales (we are talking about Ford Fiesta). An experienced designer who works at a plant in Zaporozhye, has repeatedly said that the American "child" does not have anything similar to advertising. If the bright posters and videos made from the "Fiesta" the ideal machine, then in reality it did not meet many of the declared characteristics. Therefore, to circumvent it technically was not a very complicated and time-consuming process.

The Soviet auto industry constantly demanded from the manufacturer to improve "Tavriya", putting to it ever more difficult tasks and goals. The first serial model, distributed throughout the Union, was a copy, released in November 1987.

Technical characteristics of ZAZ-1102

"Tavria" has a body type hatchback for 3 doors. The passengers can seat 5 people. The weight of the machine is just over 1100 kg. The length of the car - 3700 mm, width - 1550 mm, and height - 1400 mm.

The engines have a volume of 1.1, 1.2 and 1.3 liters. The power is 53, 58 and 63 liters. from. respectively. The maximum acceleration (speed) is 145, 158 and 165 km / h depending on the unit. You can dial 100 km / h from the spot in 15-16 seconds.

Detailed description of the car's construction

  • The rear door of the car is equipped with a special lock, which is installed inside.
  • Lubrication, or rather its system has a combined type.
  • The crankcase ventilation system is closed and passes through the carburetor and air cleaner.
  • The carburetor installed on ZAZ-1102 has an emulsion type.
  • The cooling system is located in the radiator, and it turns on automatically if necessary. The exact location is the casing.
  • Ignition - battery. The candles have a length of a screw-in part of 18 mm.
  • The exhaust gas system from the car (muffler) is set by the manufacturer.
  • The clutch is of a dry type.
  • Transmission is mechanical.
  • Brakes have different types. Parking - hand type, rear - drum, and the front - disk.

Model range of "Tavria"

The car ZAZ-110240 was launched in 1991. Production continued until 1997. In this model, the trunk has expanded volumes. There is a side passenger sofa. Unlike the sedan, these examples differ in their carrying capacity. The second time the car got off the assembly line in 1999. Its predecessor, ZAZ-1102, already lagged behind in the development from the model described. The new version was distinguished by the installed engine. A large-scale production of sanitary modification was planned, but the desired did not come true.

The cargo model of "Tavria" was named ZAZ-110260. Passenger seats were not, except for sitting next to the driver. The car is capable of withstanding loads up to 300 kg.

The next interesting model is ZAZ-110260-30. In the roof of this modification it was possible to find a small hole under the antenna. The machine had a distinctive feature - the presence of the automatic low-speed fan function. Special bungs were installed on the bumpers.

"Slavuta"

"Slavuta" went off the assembly line from 1999 to 2011. It belongs to the category "B". A body of the liftback type is installed. The engines with which these models were fitted are rated at 1.1, 1.2, 1.3 L (carburettor), and 1.2 and 1.3 L (injector). The development of "Slavuta", which is connected with ZAZ-1102, began because "Dana" did not meet the modern requirements of the drivers at the time, due to which it did not enjoy special demand. Almost six months later , the 1.1 l engine carburetor was replaced by an equivalent of 1.2 liters. And in 2002 the most expensive model appeared on the markets for the entire period of production - a car with an injector motor for 1.3 liters. However, the latter option was not suitable for sale because of the hardening of environmental standards. In January 2011 the plant stopped the production of Slavuta.

The body has 5 doors, it is made of all-metal material, has a closed and bearing type. The rear window opens together with the trunk door. The weight of the car is 800 kg. The capacity of the tank is 38 liters.

The engines, which were installed on the "Slavuta", were developed and produced at the Melitopol factory. All units are designed for 4 cylinders. The exhaust pipe is in the rear on the left. Ignition (ZAZ-1102 is equipped with a similar system) has a battery structure and a non-contact voltage of 12 volts.

Dana

The car was assembled in 1994. The last copy came off the assembly line in 2010th. "Dana" - the owner of the 5-door body, which has significant differences from the original model. Although it is built on ZAZ-1102, but the appearance of a newer car has an original and organic design.

As standard, the car is capable of carrying loads up to 200 kg with five passengers in the cabin. With the engine, which was installed on the model, you could get acquainted, leading the original "Tavria". Initially, "Danu" planned to equip the unit with a capacity of 60 horsepower, which was designed for 5,000 rpm, but due to some reasons the mass production of a car with this engine was not received.

The car belongs to the class "B". It is equipped with a four-wheel drive. The transmission is mechanical and the engine is carbureted.

"Pickup"

This car is a modification of the original model of "Dana". Any buyer could custom-install a soft or hard top (optional), which easily turns a van into a freight truck. The compartment, where all the luggage is placed, is separated from the driver's and passenger seats due to an ordinary partition with glass. The release of the "Pickup", based on the car ZAZ "Tavria-1102", began in 1992 and lasted until 2014.

The units installed on the machine had different characteristics regarding the volume: from 1.1 to 1.3 liters.

Most of the details were borrowed from "Dana". They differ among themselves the rear bumper, the lanterns of the same part of the car, the window in the partition (in a newer version, a grating appeared on it). "Pickup" received updated side mirrors and awning, which can be installed on the grille of the cargo hold, as well as suspension. Repairing this model, like repairing ZAZ-1102, does not require much time, effort and money. Therefore, such a machine is quite in demand.
