The product of tulle with lining

This skirt is cut as a model of "sun" or "half sun". Many specialized magazines contain detailed instructions that help to sew the base. Calculation of tulle for its sewing is performed as follows:

1. Measure the length of the skirt without regard to the belt and add two centimeters as an allowance for the seam. The bottom edge of the tulle is not hemmed, therefore, allowances are not needed here. However, the layers of transparent material should overlap the lining by 3-5 cm, and this should be taken into account. Thus, we get the height of the tulle strip, which is equal to: the length of the skirt + plus 2 cm + 3-5 cm.
2. The width of the strip of transparent material for one layer is equal to the size of the lining (at the widest point) multiplied by two. A taffeta skirt may contain two or more layers. The more their number, the product will be lush and airy.

How much material should I buy?

Often tulle is sold in rolls, the width of which is three meters. For the convenience of calculations, this size can be taken as the height of the bands, and the length of the purchased segment is beyond their width. Thus, if you want to sew a skirt 50 cm long and 120 cm in volume, you should buy 1.2 m of tulle. Such a tulle skirt will consist of five layers: (50 + 2 + 3) x 5 = 275. In the remainder - a strip of material 25 cm high.

How to sew a tulle

After the strips have been cut, they should be sewn on one side, combine these seams on all layers, make sure they are all on the wrong side, and sweep the skirts to the waistband. In the process of basting, tulle should be fastened, forming the same folds. A good way to help create a uniform assembly is to lay one line that connects all the layers. Beforehand, loosen the upper thread tension in the sewing machine. As a result, one thread in the line will be weakened, pulling it, you can get the necessary assembly. Do this carefully so as not to tear the thread.

Tulle skirt with ruffles

This kind of children's skirts can be created on the basis of finished products or after the lining is sewn. Each ruffa consists of a narrow strip of tulle, picked up along the center line and sewn at the appropriate place of the skirt.

Strips can contain a different number of layers: from two to ten. Their width also does not have a specific standard, it depends on the preferences of the master.

Calculation of material:

2. The length of each row of ruches is equal to twice the width of the skirt.
3. Consider how many bands will need to be cut: the number of ruches (3) x number of layers (5) = 15.
4. For example, the width of the skirt is 70 cm, so the length of the tulle stripes 70 x 2 = 140 cm.
5. 300: 140 = 2 whole strips can be cut by placing them along the width of the tulle. If the width of each strip is 24 cm, then you need to buy 200 cm of tulle.

After cutting the material into strips, they are combined into five pieces and spread through the center with a weakened stitch. Then tighten to the desired size (70 cm) and sew on one side. Then, along the central line, they attach to the base of the skirt. Each ruche turns out to be double. The latter should be sewn as close to the edge as possible.

How to make a tulle skirt for a girl with her own hands without sewing

There is a method of creating a lush children's skirt without the use of threads, needles and a sewing machine. It will only need a tulle, a wide elastic band and a little time. The calculation of the material is difficult to carry out, since everything depends on how sumptuous a skirt should be.

Usually, for children with a waist about 50 cm, up to 2 m of material with a width of 3 m is used.

The photos show the process of creating a skirt of narrow stripes of tulle. The width of each strip is 10 cm. Calculation of the length: (length of the product x 2) + 10 cm (allowance for the knot).
