Skirt of tulle with your own hands. Master Class

A plush skirt made of tulle, like a cloud or a cake of whipped cream, will adorn any female representative who is young at heart. To create this work independently, you do not need special skills and secret knowledge, it's enough just to be able to scribble on the typewriter and not to fall into a longing for a rather long, monotonous work.

Skirt of tulle with your own hands

The product that we will be sewing is made based on the American models of Pettiskirt, you can find its samples on the Internet by entering this name in the search engine. Of course, there are differences between the self-sewing and the proprietary thing, but the overall impressions are very similar. So why not try? In the master class, a description is given of cutting and sewing a skirt for a girl of five years of age. Its length in the finished form is 30 cm. So, let's start!

Material selection

The original pettiskirt skirts are made of nylon chiffon, but in Russia this fabric is almost impossible to find on the market. Either you have to order it from the US, or use available analogs. Nylon chiffon is very light, almost weightless, while it keeps the shape perfectly. In addition, the edges of this material do not crumble, so they do not need an outline at all. Most nylon chiffon is similar to kapron for pantyhose, smooth and completely non-sticky.

But since it is difficult to get it, we will use what is. Option - a skirt of tulle. He, of course, is somewhat harsh and pricked, so you need to choose the softest of the proposed ones. You can also use lining nylon, devoid of flaws, but it is heavy, because of which the skirt of it does not hold a shape and looks "fallen off." For tiers, you can also use this material to make the finished product look fluffier, almost like a ballerina pack, only more voluminously. There is a variant and another - the tiers to sew from chiffon, so that the result is as close as possible to the original.

A skirt of tulle for its tailoring will require:

  1. Non-woven fabric.
  2. Chiffon or tulle (for tiers).
  3. Atlas or satin (for a coquette).
  4. Fatin (for defrauds).
  5. The elastic band is 25 mm wide.
  6. Tape.

Our skirt of tulle and chiffon consists, in fact, of two completely identical skirts. Making them colorful, you can get a two-way product, that is, in fact, two outfits in one. Let's bring a little clarity in the terminology:

- The coquette is the upper part of the skirt. It is sewn tape and rubber band, and to the bottom are attached the tiers of satin. A 5-year-old child needs a satin strip 1 m long by 22 cm and a width of 19 cm.

- tiers - the parts to which the frills are attached. They need cuts of chiffon, one of which is 7 meters long and 9 cm wide, and the second is 16 meters long and 11 cm wide.

- ruches - the basis of the splendor of the skirt. They represent a 44-meter strip of tulle with a width of 7 cm.

Stages of work

  1. The whole tulle is cut into strips 7 cm wide. To facilitate the process will help paper cut the right size, which you can orientate when cutting.

2. The resulting ribbons roll into the huts. A bunch of skeins turns out impressive!

3. Cut the fabric into strips of the right size for the tiers (9 and 11cm).

4. On the sewing machine (zigzag seam) or on the overlock we process the chiffon edges. In this case, you need to ensure that the different halves of the skirt are not mixed!

5. For each half we sew the chiffon strips between each other and close in the ring.

6. Be careful at the final stage, make sure that the ring does not twist.

7. Now it's the ruches' turn. Fatiny stripes ppararivaem on the filing thread one after another: the beginning of the next is superimposed on the end of the previous one. The length of the rucle should be equal to the length of the lower tier.

8. Ruches are attached to the lower tier of the skirt.

9. Collect the second tier to the size of the first (upper) and stitch them together.

10. Repeat all operations for the second half of the skirt.

11. We cut out a coquette of satin and lay long sides of the blank with non-woven fleece.

12. Fold the strip across in half.

13. Leave the mark in the strip for the seam, so that you can insert the rubber into it later. We sew on it and turn it around.

14. From the front side we lay 2 lines along the line of the rubber band.

15. Half of the skirt folds with the wrong sides to each other and sews the coquette to the bottom.

16. We insert an elastic band, to which we tie the ribbon. That's all!

This magnificent skirt of tulle adorns the wardrobe of both small fashionistas and well-established ladies. Particularly relevant are such forms for clubs and other places of entertainment, where one can afford to be somewhat frivolous to spite all the conventions.
