Lugansk Nikolay: biography and awards

This is one of the most popular pianists in the world. Luganskiy Nikolay is an example of how you can achieve recognition and become famous without introducing colorful elements of the show into your program. He plays in prestigious halls of the world, and the pianist's tour sheet is filled with more than a year in advance. In the repertoire of an intelligent, unsavory master of chamber music there are more than 100 solo programs and about 50 concerts with an orchestra. Nikolai has a dozen of prestigious awards and awards, and in Russia he is a well-deserved and popular artist.

Parents

Nikolay was born in Moscow in 1972. At that time the eldest son Cyril was growing up in the Lugansk family. Mom Anna Nikolaevna, graduating from the University. Lomonosova, worked at the Institute of Biochemistry, where she defended her thesis and became a candidate of biological sciences. Father Lev Borisovich is a man whose life was connected with physics. He worked at the Institute of Physical Problems and had a doctorate in technical sciences. Cyril was the first of his family to choose a profession related to music. He became a master of stringed instruments.

My parents loved music. Lev Borisovich was well versed in the opera, and Anna Nikolayevna liked the piano classics. They could not even think that their son, Lugansk Nikolay, would become a pianist in the future.

Let there always be sunshine

Lev Borisovich never wanted his son to learn a musical notation. This was due to their own observations of the children of friendly Luhansk families. He saw how hard it was for children to be given musical training, how they sacrificed for this purpose a game of football and other childish amusements.

One day Lev Borisovich bought a tiny piano for his own curiosity and brought it home. When he began to pick up on it the melody of Arkady Ostrovsky "Let there always be sunshine," Kolya began to tell his father that he does not fall into the notes. The Lugansk senior decided to check the child's hearing. He explained that there are 7 notes, if the sound is increased by a half, then, on the contrary, it is flat. And then he began to press the keys, and Kolya began to guess them.

At the age of 5.5 years it was found that the child has an absolute hearing. From the first time Nikolay remembered the sound altitude of the notes. This was the reason for buying a real piano.

First teacher

At six years old parents bought a Czech piano "Petroff". Lev Borisovich in the morning before work explained to the son the values of the bass and treble clef, and when he came home in the evening, he was stunned. Kolya played with two hands on the piano on notes that he saw for the first time. And there were notes in the family, since the eldest son Cyril already knew the musical certificate.

In one of the interviews, the father recalls the moment when he discovered the talent of his son. He says: "I press 5 notes, Kolya, not seeing the keyboard, accurately lists them. When I take a chord with both hands, the son again calls all 10 notes. "

Of course, such a gift required development, so the parents turned to their neighbor in the dacha Sergei Aleksandrovich Ipatov, so that he took the training of their son. He was a talented musician, who had a conservatory behind him. At first he was skeptical about the proposal, but when Lugansk Nikolay sat in the presence of Sergei Alexandrovich sat down at his instrument and by ear began to pick up Beethoven's 20 sonatas, it became obvious that the boy was really gifted.

Attitude to music

The first records with classical works by little Kolya were "Chopin's Ballades and Waltzes" and "Beethoven's Sonatas". Nikolai Lugansky (the photo of the crowded halls from which concerts prove the public love of the public), being a five-year-old child, already experienced an incredible feeling from listening to the final chords of "Moonlight Sonata".

Interviewing, he said that at that time he was no longer an immediate child: "I knew what war was, heard about deaths, destruction. Father told the principle of the neutron bomb, which the Americans developed by that time. But all the existing world problems, the catastrophes were so insignificant in comparison with what a musically bright impression was made on me by the finale of the "Moonlight Sonata". " Music for him was and remains more important than life.

Musical school and conservatory

Nikolai studied at the Central Music School (CMS) in T.E. Kesner. Then Lugansky entered the Conservatory, where his teacher was a Soviet composer and pianist Tatyana Petrovna Nikolaeva, after his death, he passed under the pedagogical wing of S.L. Dorensky. Under the guidance of the last of the above-mentioned teachers, Luganskiy Nikolai Lvovich graduated from an internship assistant, which allowed him to teach at the Moscow Conservatoire in piano class in 1998.

In a conversation with journalists he was asked about whether he sees in his students some special gift that can lead them to a big stage. To which Nikolai Lugansky, a pianist from the pleiad of the best musicians, answered: "When a person starts to win in all contests, there are people who say that they saw the talent and predicted a great future for this person, although until the moment of his recognition, This was not reported. " And then Nikolai made a parallel with his teachers and said: "All my teachers are different, and they never advertised themselves at the expense of the talent of their students."

Victories and concerts

In 1988 at the contest in Tbilisi for the first time pronounced: "Nikolai Lugansky (piano), Moscow - winner of the I All-Union Competition of Young Musicians". This award was the first in a numerous list of his victories. In the same year in Leipzig Lugansk became a laureate of the International Competition. I.S. Bach.

At the age of 16 he and Tatyana Petrovna were invited to Cannes for Mozart's concert. And in two years (1990) Nikolai visited Paris not as a contestant, but as a soloist of the concert program. After his first solo performance in France, Nikolai Lugansk concerts began to be given all over the world. He was applauded by the public of the Netherlands, Germany, Greece, Switzerland, Spain, Japan. But Nikolai Lvovich also does not forget about the Russian people, who need "cultural pleasure". Every year the maestro arrives in Ivanovo to the museum-estate of his beloved composer and performer S.V. Rakhmaninov, where he gives charity concerts.

By the way, the first prize at the competition. S.V. Rachmaninov Nikolai received in 1990 in Moscow. He, preparing for the performance, learned by heart 17 sketches of the great Russian composer Sergei Vasilyevich.

Lugansk Nikolay has three German prizes: for the best instrumental performance; For the best chamber performance and from critics for recording Rakhmaninov's concerts. In 2013, Nikolai Lvovich was awarded the title of People's Artist of Russia.

Nikolay Lugansky: personal life, hobbies

On private life, the popular pianist does not have much time left. Constant tours, flights take half the time, which Nikolai is forced to spend outside the house.

With his wife Lada, he met at a friend's party. By education she is a pharmacist, and by vocation - patient with the constant absence of her husband's wife. The couple have three children.

After performances on his return home, Nikolai loves to play with his eldest son in football and tennis. Of the quieter games, an important place among the pianist's hobbies is chess. Favorite game in this sport - the Swedes, when two pairs compete and the figure "eaten" from the opponent, is transferred to the partner, who rearranges it on his board.

A story from life

There is a genius chamber performer in life and funny events. In one interview, the parents told how, after playing the program in the Canary Islands, Nikolai decided to swim the next day in the Atlantic Ocean.

When he came to the beach, he did not find a single resting person, but this did not stop him from taking a step toward the water. He swam, and could not return to the shore, because the ebb tipped Nicholas back into the ocean. And the water temperature was very low. Miraculously someone from the nearest cafe called for help, the pianist was rescued. It's good that such a risky act turned for the Lugansk family to save Nicholas.
