Liquid plaster: instruction, purpose, application

In each home medicine cabinet you can find patches designed to close the wound. Unfortunately, it is not always convenient to apply them. They have many shortcomings. More modern is the liquid adhesive, which is a film. Let us consider the advantages of this tool in more detail.

general description

With small cuts and skin lesions on the skin, many people are accustomed to using the usual plaster, which helps to prevent the entry of pathogenic microorganisms. However, such patches are usually the cause of the greenhouse effect, which negatively affects the process of restoring the damaged skin.

An unusual medicinal form of the usual remedy is a liquid patch or skin glue. It allows you to quickly close the wound with a thin film. The product of the modern pharmaceutical industry is a volatile liquid which, after spraying and evaporating (drying) the solvent, forms an elastic thin film. This patch is ideal for cuts and abrasions located in hard-to-reach places. Such a tool allows not only to prevent infection, but also gives the damaged skin "breathe", which is especially necessary for rapid healing.

Features of composition

Liquid plasters have a special set of components in the composition, which, after application to the skin, forms a "breathing" film. An obligatory component is a bactericidal substance. Elastic film, in contrast to conventional patches, has good adhesion to the dermis and does not peel off even when moisture gets.

The mandatory ingredient is castor oil, sunflower oil or glycerin. Oily substances give the film elasticity. As a basis, usually a solution of pyroxylin diluted with a mixture of ether and alcohol is used. The set of components in the composition may vary depending on the manufacturer. In the composition of corn oil, for example, there is diamond greens, salicylic acid (active substance), collodion.

Types of liquid patches

The pharmaceutical industry offers several varieties of liquid patches. The most popular were patches in the form of a spray. They are easily applied to the damaged area of the skin. Liquid plaster spray allows you to quickly stop bleeding and protect the wound from infection.
