Evergreen shrubs up to 120 centimeters high, but sometimes up to 2 meters. In Russia it grows in the European part, including the Arctic, in Western Siberia, the Far East. In Ukraine it is found in the Carpathians and the Carpathian Mountains. Blossoms from May to July yellowish-white flowers, and the fruit of the plant represent a box on the drooping leg.

The generic name comes from the Latin word "harm", because of a strong intoxicating smell, and its species definition from the habitat is a swamp (also a translation of the word from Latin). For medicinal purposes, the herb wild rosemary plant is used for the last two centuries, especially in Sweden and Germany. In Russia it has been used since the end of the XIX century.

For medicinal raw materials, a rosemary swamp is suitable, shoots of which reach up to 10 centimeters in length. The collection takes place during the ripening period, beginning in August and continuing until the end of September. This plant has a low regeneration ability and in the place of cut shoots in only three years biomass is restored. You can store raw materials for no more than 2-3 years.

Billet harvesting and subsequent drying with packing requires caution, given that this plant is poisonous. Its strong odor causes nausea and a headache with dizziness. Therefore, harvesting Ledum rosemary, it should be borne in mind that it is impossible to do this more than 2-3 hours a day using a respirator and mittens. After finishing the work, wash your hands with soap and water.

Only the above-ground portion of such a plant is used, as is the rosemary bogs. Shoots with leaves and flowers contain vitamin C, tannins, arbutin, essential oil, with included in its composition phytoncides, copper, silver, barium, manganese. The plant is considered a diaphoretic, diuretic, tonic and anthelmintic.

In folk medicine, a rosemary has been found to be a marshmallow application as a decoction and infusion for the treatment of chronic rheumatism, scrofula, gout, pulmonary tuberculosis, eczema, bronchitis and neurasthenia. The broth is prepared from the calculation of 2 tbsp. Spoons of sprigs of lemongrass per liter of boiling water and then insist. Take on a spoon from 3 to 7 times a day. And you need to remember, at one time they drink not more than a spoonful of broth or infusion. As with other agents, dosage is important.

In Bulgaria - as an abortifacient, as well as with cholecystitis and bronchitis. Wide range of its application and in homeopathy, ranging from the treatment of tumors and to arthritis, skin diseases and frostbite.

And Tibetan medicine uses marsh rosemary. The use of decoction of its flowers is practiced in liver diseases. In Belarus, their water broth has found application in such diseases as enuresis, rickets, rheumatism, rickets, whooping cough, bronchitis, asthma, stomach and heart diseases. Vegetable flowers in oil are very effective as an analgesic. Used for skin diseases and rheumatism and bruises for rubbing.

Contraindications to the use of the rosemary swamp product: its overdose causes excitation and in some cases can depressing the central nervous system. Incorrect dosage of the drug may lead to inflammation of the gastrointestinal tract - its mucosa. At occurrence of a giddiness, easy irritability and increase of excitability reception immediately stops.

It is necessary to remember, use a rosemary swamp preparation only on the instructions of a doctor. Any kind of self-treatment has undesirable consequences.
