With the birth of a child, young parents have many questions - how to feed, how to play, what to wear and how to walk. The question of choosing clothes and changing the baby is one of the most important. The child should be wrapped up so that it was warm, cozy and comfortable.

Swaddling

Our ancestors noticed that the baby is comfortable if his hands and feet are well sutured. So the child seems to be still in the familiar environment, he feels protected and does not frighten himself with pens.

Previously swaddled a large piece of cloth, well stripped and ironed. The material was chosen soft, not prickly - such that it did not cause irritation on the delicate skin.

Now the swaddling has reached a new level. In addition to the numerous fashionable devices by which the market for newborns is rich, a large number of technologically literate things have appeared that facilitate the life of both mother and baby. Such inventions include a diaper-cocoon. Its feature is that it is dimensionless and is sewn at home. First, a pattern is drawn. The diaper-cocoon can be sewn by hand for a couple of hours.

Varieties

Diapers of this design can be different. Velcro, buttons or ties can be used as fasteners. This diaper is suitable for natural swaddling - when the corners are wrapped around the child's body and fill up under the layers of tissue.

Appearance can also differ in different diapers. Most of them are a T-shaped cocoon with a pocket underneath. There is also a variation in which the lower part, like the side flaps, is foldable and is not fixed by additional fasteners.

Building a Pattern

To sew a diaper you need a pattern. The diaper-cocoon itself, by the way, is sewn very simply and quickly.

For the pattern, you need to draw a large "T" on the fabric that is selected for the product. Then, at the bottom of the letter, the bottom must be slightly widened to fit the circumference of the shape.

It is necessary to cut out 2 parts of this letter. If the diaper is lined, then 4 pieces are cut, while the two inner ones should be less by 5 mm (allowance for the seams).

In order for the diaper to be at the time of the baby from 0 to 3 months, the dimensions should be with a margin:

• Height 65-90 cm;
• The width in the narrow part is 50 cm;
• The maximum width of the shelves is 90 cm.

Since the child wraps himself in such a diaper over the neck, then the height of the pattern must be such that the cushion does not form near the head. To avoid this, the baby is put on the top edge of the product, and the bottom is slightly loose - the crumb is comfortable to move the legs, which is especially pleasing to the children.

Now, when the pattern is ready, the diaper-cocoon must be cut with its own hands.

Cutting

Now we will tell you how to sew a cocoon napkin, and in what order it should be done:

• Before cutting, the fabric must be rubbed off and thoroughly ironed. This is necessary in order to understand how the material behaves after heat treatment.
• The iron cloth is cut.
• Then it is necessary to sew the backing and the outer layer. For this, the fabrics are superimposed on each other, the front side to the front side. The material is sewn on the sides so that there remains a small area through which it will be possible to unscrew the entire structure.

Diaper-cocoon with zipper

Different moms evaluate different fasteners in their own way. Someone is comfortable just to roll up the baby, someone prefers Velcro. A dimensionless diaper with a zipper is a universal option that is convenient for any age of the baby.

In order to obtain a quality diaper, a two-way factory zipper (you can use the required length, about 50 cm) is required for work. It also requires a cloth, sharp scissors. Its pattern consists of several parts:

• The back of the diaper looks like a big oval;
• The two front parts of the diaper, their length and the circumference of the circle must coincide with the rear. It will be correct to draw two ovals, the second cut in half and add 5 mm to the seams;
• Collar collar. A soft band of knitwear can be used.

First a collar is lined. Then the lightning is sewn to the cocoon. After that, the front halves with a zipper are sewn on the sides with the back of the cocoon.

This diaper should be necessarily lined, so that lightning does not interfere with the child, does not prick or cause discomfort.

Diaper with Velcro

The diaper for Velcro will fit perfectly. In it, just a kid swaddling, it is convenient to unbutton it to change a diaper - there is no need to unfold the entire child.

To sew a warm diaper on velcro, you need 3 types of fabric: fluffy material for exterior trim, fleece for lining, flannel or bike - for the inside.

Pattern is standard - like the letter "T".

Each layer of fabric should be the same size with the previous one. Sew in this version, three layers at once.

On the inside, on the sidewalls - that layer of fabric that will fit to the body of the baby - pre-sew the velcro. The second part is sewn on the outside. It must be done strictly symmetrically, so that the clasps come together. All layers are sewn together.

Another option is a Velcro diaper in which the Velcro is positioned vertically on one side.

In this configuration it is convenient to put the child in the middle and fix it with the side sleeves.

Asymmetric diaper

Most mothers noticed that when swaddling a child, the right side of the diaper cloth is actively used, and the left one is used to fix the material on the baby.

Proceeding from this, ergonomically convenient is a specific pattern. The diaper-cocoon with its own hands is sewn so that the right side of it is larger than the left one.

When swaddling, the left side is put on the baby, the bottom is wrapped around the legs, and the right one wraps the body so that the long panel is in front and reaches the velcro or fastener. Diaper-cocoon with a zip on this pattern will not work, as lightning will interfere.

For convenience, so that there is no clumping of the tissue in the area of the hands, you can make small darts. For this, triangles with a vertex angle of not more than 15 degrees are cut out on the fabric. They are arranged so that the base coincides with the armpit on the pattern. This is the place where a wide pattern of patterns begins. These drawn triangles are cut out and the fabric is stitched in this place. So it turns out that the excess material is removed and the product comfortably encircles the baby.
