Kemerovo Medical Academy (university): faculties, forms of training, cost

A year ago in the capital of the Kemerovo region, higher medical education could be obtained at the state academy. Now this institution exists, but it is called a little differently. History of the educational institution

Kemerovo Medical Academy (University) has been functioning since 1955. The university was created in the form of a state institution with the aim to provide the Kuzbass with medical personnel and cope with the problem of their high turnover (about 100 medical workers left the Kemerovo region every year and went to other regions of the country).

With the status of the institute, the institution lasted 40 years. In 1995 he was renamed into the academy. University educational institution was recently - in 2016, the Ministry of Health signed a corresponding order concerning the name change.

When the institute began its work, it was only a medical faculty (a little later, the Dental Faculty and the Faculty of Medicine were opened). The first ten years the university strengthened its positions in the city and the region. Since 1967, a period of rapid growth began. The pediatric department was first opened. A few years later the pharmaceutical faculty appeared.

In 1991, the third stage of growth began. It did not end, because the university continues to develop. A lot of significant events took place during this period. Faculty of nursing and postgraduate training were opened. At present, the Academy, which has become a university, is one of the largest educational organizations in the country. There are 8 faculties in its structure:

Full-time studies at the university

Kemerovo Medical University entrants offer full-time education. This is one of the forms implemented in the university. The following directions of training are available at the full-time department:

• "Medical case";
• "Medico-prophylactic case";
• "Pediatrics";
• "Pharmacy";
• "Stomatology";
• "Nursing".

All the above-listed areas of training, with the exception of the latter, refer to a specialty. In the first 3 specialties, the duration of training is 6 years. Applicants who choose "Pharmacy" and dental direction, have to study at the university for 5 years. "Nursing" refers to bachelor's degree. The term of study in this direction is 4 years.

Distance learning in the university

Kemerovo Medical Academy, in addition to full-time education, offers an absentee form. It is implemented in the direction of "Management and economics (management) at a healthcare enterprise". Here are some specific features:

1. This direction is a program of additional retraining. At the end of the training a diploma is issued. It indicates additional professional retraining and gives the right to conduct activities in the area to which the program belongs.
2. People with higher education or students of the Kemerovo Medical University who study at the 5th or 6th year can apply to this (students of the pharmaceutical and dental faculties are allowed to enter the 4th or 5th year).
3. By the end of the training each trainee should have a diploma confirming the existence of higher education (without him, a document on additional retraining can not be issued).

Kemerovo Medical Academy annually allocates budgetary places in all areas of training. For example, for 2017/2018 provides:

• 110 places on "Pediatrics";
