Joseph Kobzon's Disease: a terrible diagnosis and 13 years of successful fight against him

In the distant 2005, overwhelming news circulated all the media: Iosif Kobzon is hopelessly ill, and doctors do not predict anything good for him. But, fortunately, the disease of Joseph Kobzon was not stronger than himself. To this day, he is in good spirits, although he was forced to end his musical career. How did the famous singer win the terrible diagnosis after 13 years of hard struggle?

Biography and creativity of Kobzon

Joseph Kobzon always stood out against other performers with some kind of indestructible calm, a life-affirming repertoire and his own sense of dignity. The singer surprised with his resilience, because he performed on the stage since 1956 and did not make any breaks. Who else can boast of such experience?

On a large concert stage, a boy from the Donbass, unknown to anyone, did not immediately hit. He received his education in the Dnepropetrovsk Mining College. In his youth he was fond of boxing. Then he served in the army all the time, as expected. It was there that he first entered the stage as part of a song and dance ensemble attached to the Transcaucasian Military District. It was speaking with this collective, for the first time Joseph thought seriously about the career of the singer.

Then there was the Odessa Conservatory and the All-Union Glory. Surprisingly, Kobzon's lyrical and dramatic baritone remained in demand after the collapse of the USSR.

The disease of Joseph Kobzon first appeared in 2002. The singer constantly felt unwell, and after the examination it turned out that he had prostate cancer.

The sounded diagnosis has plunged Kobzon into shock: the singer did not even immediately decide to fight the disease. He thought that the best thing he can do is spend the rest of his life with his family and stop touring. But his wife persuaded Joseph Davydovich to take up his mind, and in 2002 the first operation was carried out, after which, unfortunately, the singer fell into a coma. It happened on June 15th. In a coma, Kobzon stayed exactly 15 days.

Next operative intervention the singer moved in 2005 already in Germany. Joseph Kobzon, whose illness did not retreat, this time was seriously set on recovery. And although the operation was supposedly successful, the immunity still could not stand such a load. It had to be restored not only after surgery, but also treated for pneumonia and infectious kidney disease, and the singer had a blood clot in his lungs.

However, to enjoy the results of treatment in the German clinic did not last long.

Kobzon became a regular patient of one of Moscow's medical centers. He was regularly observed by doctors to be aware of his state of health. Indeed, the singer did not regret money for any new methods of investigation. He even decided to pass in October 2008 positron emission tomography. This method of examination is considered relatively new and helps to identify tumors at the earliest stages when they are amenable to rapid treatment.

A few days before the tomography, a complete purification of the blood was carried out - this procedure, according to some reports, costs several thousand dollars. A couple of hours before the examination, a radioactive substance was introduced into the veins of Kobzon, necessary to display the correct diagnostic results. Unfortunately, the worst fears were justified, and in 2009 Kobzon again lay on the operating table with German surgeons. The disease of Joseph Kobzon after the second operation receded, and the glorious pedantry of the German doctors let down: they poorly imposed internal seams.

And in five days (!) Kobzon already was in Latvia and acted at a song contest in Jurmala, and worked "live". However, after the contest the singer felt ill. In Moscow, Joseph Davydovich was taken to a regular oncology clinic for examination. It turned out that the seams had parted, and inflammation began.

After a quick examination on July 21, the singer was again laid on the operating table, but already in Moscow. The operation was successful, and a year later Kobzon again came on the scene.

Joseph Kobzon, whose illness grieved both the colleagues of the singer and his admirers, was not going to leave an active creative life. When the World Forum of Spiritual Culture was to take place in the hot capital of Kazakhstan, Kobzon agreed to take part in it. But the singer did not calculate his strength.

At first he fainted during the event, but he was quickly brought to life. When Kobzon lost consciousness right on the stage for the second time, the brigade of doctors present at the forum had to do artificial respiration. As a result of the many operations carried out, the artist developed anemia, and fainting became a habit for him.

The disease of Joseph Kobzon seems to have receded. But the singer still decided to end his career, and in 2012, celebrating his 75th birthday, fulfilled his promise. After that, he only made an exception several times and went on stage to the residents of Donbass, seeking to express his support to fellow countrymen in the form of humanitarian aid and their participation in important republican holidays.
