The last year news about Ukraine and its inhabitants do not leave the first pages of printed publications and news feeds. Panic, death, the deaths of thousands of civilians and the military has become an integral part of the associations arising from the mention of this state. Once famous for its rich history and culture, the country has now become the pain and fear of Europe. It forces us to talk about ourselves again and again not only world politicians and international organizations, but also ordinary people who watch with horror the events.

Humanitarian aid is almost the first priority for Ukrainians living in the eastern part of the country. In connection with the conflict that has dragged on for more than a month, this issue is particularly acute, because hundreds of families, gathering only the most necessary things, left, wherever they could, turning into refugees without a roof over their heads, without food, clothes. The reaction of the population of different cities of Ukraine

Residents of Dnepropetrovsk can help the settlers and bring the things they need to the humanitarian aid reception point, which is located in the office 3 at ul. Embankment of Lenin, 15a in the Institute "Dneprostroy" (tel. +380675800899).

It does not lag behind the big cities and Zhytomyr, whose inhabitants take an active part in rendering assistance to the settlers from Lugansk and Donetsk regions. Repair and mechanical plant, located at ul. Chekhov, d. 1, coordinates the work of volunteers and city residents to collect food, clothing, and basic necessities. Volunteer organizations

During the undeclared war, many volunteer organizations were created in Ukraine, which are engaged in the search for housing and resettlement of refugees, as well as the collection and distribution of essentials, clothing, footwear, food.

"East SOS" and Government hotline

One of the above-mentioned organizations is the "East SOS". Volunteers of the "East" provide legal and humanitarian assistance, help in resolving issues on the release of hostages. There is also a Government free hotline for support of refugees from Donbass - 0 800 507 309. It will prompt you what documents you need to have with you for resettlement, and also in which cities you can place people who need it.

Humanitarian headquarters

The Humanitarian Headquarters, which was established under the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation, also provides assistance to the population affected by the fighting. He is in close contact with public, volunteer and international organizations.

The work of the headquarters is aimed at delivering humanitarian aid to areas where there is an urgent need (for example, in early October, assistance was sent to Severodonetsk, Artemovsk and Krasnodon); Evacuation of families from the war zone; To search and accommodation of refugees and immigrants in sanatoria, on recreation centers, in private apartments and houses; To provide targeted assistance to those who apply for such.

Each of these areas is supervised by a specially created team of like-minded people.

Humanitarian assistance to Ukraine from the international community

An important role in supplying the affected people is played by international organizations, including the Red Cross and the Population Supply Fund, which help to deliver humanitarian goods to the country.

Humanitarian aid to Ukraine was provided by Germany. On October 23, 2014, representatives of this country sent 10 trucks with 200 tons of cargo to Dnepropetrovsk, which includes both household appliances (washing machines, refrigerators, beds, mattresses, blankets, tables and chairs, water containers) and Essential goods (personal care products, long-term storage products, tobacco products, matches, baby food).
