The world of Russian jazz is impossible to imagine without a unique musician, multi-instrumentalist David Goloshchekin. He got interested in jazz as early as 15 years, while studying at a music school at the Leningrad Conservatoire, he approaches the circle of St. Petersburg jazzmen. And already at the age of 17 he began to work in the tour association. In his creative biography was a lot of interesting and unique. He worked in the famous orchestras of Yu. Vikharev, E. Rozner and I. Vainshtein. Goloshchekin owns piano, violin, viola, cello, saxophone and flugelhorn. In 1968 he created an ensemble of jazz music, in which he still works. With the band, the musician traveled all over the world. He had a chance to perform with Duke Ellington, Winton Marsales, Dizzy Gillespie, Paquito D'Rivera, Eddie Gomez and many other famous jazzmen. In 1989, thanks to the efforts of Goloshchekin, the jazz philharmonic society (SPb), a unique place that is considered one of a number of elite venues of the world, appeared. Today, the Philharmonic has become the main venue for the jazz music ensemble, as well as a place for the realization of a large number of jazzmen's creative projects.

Team

Philharmonia of jazz music was created as a unity of like-minded people. The core of the band was composed by musicians of the Jazz Ensemble and maestro D. Goloshchekin himself. As an independent creative unit, the soloist of this collective is Elvira Trafova. She has worked in Goloshekina for many years, and also has her own team, which includes pianist Pyotr Kornev, saxophonist Kirill Bubyakin, Viktor Shcherbin (konga) and Stanislav Streltsov (drums). Each of these musicians also has their own music projects and teams. Also, the jazz philharmonic is the "home" platform for such famous jazzmen of Russia as Hasan Bagirov, G. The St. Petersburg Philharmonic of jazz music was created by David Goloshchekin to a large extent in order to have a platform for inviting worthy musicians. Almost all the world's jazz celebrities managed to perform in the almost 30-year history of the hall's existence. All these projects are aimed at promoting jazz in Russia, creating a jazz culture for the younger generation. The project "Jazz for Children" was the first in the history of the Philharmonic.
