Maxim Boyko: a brief biography and the reasons for the political failure

Not many Russians know who Maxim Boyko is. This is due to the fact that he does not like to advertise his personality, and even more so openly appear in public. But this man is one of the most experienced advisers on economic issues in the government of the Russian Federation.

Boyko Maxim: biography of early years

Maxim Vladimirovich was born in Moscow on August 30, 1959. His family has a rich history, which they honor and pass from mouth to mouth. For example, Maxim's great-grandfather - Solon Abramovich Lozovoy was a famous writer-revolutionary, and grandfather - Georgii Maximovich Malenkov was an associate of Joseph Stalin himself.

As for Maxim's parents, they were respected economists. In the early 70's they were offered a job in one of the US universities, after which they moved the whole family to America. However, at the age of sixteen, Boyko Maxim decides to return to the USSR in order to be educated at home.

Student years

Upon arrival, Boyko entered the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology, which he successfully graduated in 1982. He studied in the specialty "applied mathematics", after which he received a diploma of a physics engineer.

In 1985, Maxim Boyko became a candidate of economic sciences, defending a thesis on "The cyclical movement of housing construction and the market of loan capital in the United States." However, most of the material he received during additional training at the Institute of International Economics and International Relations (IMEMO). After that, for six years he passed an internship at the American Bureau of Economic Research.

Work in Russia

Upon returning home in 1992, Maxim Boyko became a consultant to the State Property Committee. At one of the meetings he meets Anatoly Chubais, with whom he has a strong friendship. Thanks to this acquaintance, the young economist gets a prestigious place in the State Committee of the Russian Federation for the management of state property.

In 1995, Anatoly Chubais was promoted to the vice-premier, which immediately affects the position of Maxim Boyko. He becomes deputy secretary for economic reforms, which allows him to take direct part in the political life of the country.

In August 1996, Maxim Boyko receives another increase. This time, he will be entrusted with the post of deputy head of the Presidential Administration. It is this position that allows the economist to spread his wings and shine in the sky of political stars.

The Fall of Icarus

In May 1997, Russian President Boris Yeltsin appointed Maxim Boyko a member of the State Commission for Economic Reforms. At that time, everyone was sure that the young politician would soon move to work in the Ministry of Economics. But in November 1997, what happened was that Boyko lost his career forever.

The reason for all this was the scandalous "Case of Writers". Its essence was that five authors, including Anatoly Chubais and Maxim Boyko, received royalties from the state for not yet written a book. After that, they all left state posts in connection with the distrust of the people.

As a result Maxim Boyko founded his own advertising company "Video International". And, despite the scandalous departure, he is still considered one of the most experienced economic advisers. Therefore, representatives of the Russian parliament often appeal to him for help.
