Jamgarovsky pond, Losinoostrovsky district. Recreation and fishing in the suburbs

Moscow is a huge metropolis with millions of people, skyscrapers, traffic jams, shopping centers and industrial enterprises. In the capital there are not so many areas that can boast of natural beauty, comfort and silence. One of these places is the Losinoostrovsky district, where residents and visitors of the city have the opportunity to fully relax.

Brief Description of the Area

Losinoostrovsky district is named in honor of the metro station of the same name, located on its territory, which received its name from Losiny Ostrov. More than 80 thousand Muscovites live here; There are a dozen schools, 14 kindergartens, several libraries, polyclinics, as well as a vocational school, a town planning college and a medical school number 22.

There is a Losinoostrovsky district in the north-east of the capital, its total area is 554 hectares.

Initially, this territory was not part of Moscow. At the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries, summer residents formed two settlements. The first one was called Losinoostrovsky, and the second, which arose somewhat later, was called Djamgarovka in honor of the Armenian brothers named Djamgarovs who were successful Moscow bankers and also owned dachas in these places.

In 1925, the settlements turned into the town of Losinoostrovsk, later renamed Babushkin (in honor of the famous pilot). And only in 1960 the town near Moscow was included in the capital.

Today on the territory of Lonoostrovsky district there are several recreation areas, one of which is Djamgarovsky Park, which is located around the same pond. This is a real paradise, to which the locals are justifiably proud!

The charms of Djamgarovsky Park

The park, which grew up on the site of the former home of Jamgarov's bankers, is actually more like a forest. Ancient pines, lime trees, birches and other trees ... Where else in Moscow will you find such luxury? But at the same time the territory is not wild - it is ennobled and perfect for recreation. Here there are sandboxes for kids, and a swing for older children, and benches with gazebos for adults, and urns, and even barbecues where people can fry a shish kebab. And before all this from apartment buildings - a stone's throw. It's no wonder that there are always a lot of people in the park.

Moscow authorities are monitoring this territory, so there is no garbage here, and it's really nice to relax in the park. But its main highlight is the Djamgarovsky pond.

History, geography and other characteristics of the reservoir

The pond, like a park named after Moscow bankers, is well known to Muscovites who like to visit its banks. The area of the reservoir is 13.5 hectares, and the average depth is about two and a half meters. It feeds on ground and surface waters.

Jamgarovsky pond was built in the 1920s on the site of a sand pit, which in turn was the result of a dam on the Ichka River. According to one version, during the Second World War a bomb fell into the reservoir, because of which one of its shores now has a rounded shape. In 1984, the pond survived the reconstruction: its banks were fortified and landscaped, the bottom cleaned.

Today Djamgarovsky pond is one of the favorite places for guests and residents of the capital. They happily stroll along the wooden embankment, sunbathe on a specially equipped beach (although it is forbidden to swim), rest in a cafe on the beach, ride a gondola and admire gulls, which are very numerous here.

Lovers of antiquity will be interested in Perlovskoe cemetery, the first burial places on which date back to the middle of the nineteenth century. It is located on the coast. And the local believing people are happy to visit the temple on the Djamgarovsky Pond, which was constructed quite recently in spite of protests from some activists. Orthodox residents of the region have been waiting for this event since 1998, and, finally, the chapel church in honor of the Iberian Icon of the Mother of God was erected!
