Is this shame and fear - warts on your hands?

What are warts - even children know. Rather, they represent how they look. Although not every adult is aware that a wart is a disease of a viral nature. And although it is perfectly correct from a moral point of view to teach the children that a man who has such growths on his skin is not good at laughing and teasing him, at the same time one should not cultivate a completely frivolous attitude toward warts.

The disease, which causes these benign neoplasms to appear on the human body, causes the virus of papillomatosis. It penetrates the body through small cracks in the skin, for several months it is in the period of incubation, and then it manifests itself as dense, knobby outgrowths with a rough surface. These formations can "settle" on any part of the body, but warts on the hands are especially common, because they are more often than other organs in contact with the environment and contaminated surfaces.

For a long time the myth that warts can be infected from toads and frogs has been refuted. But only people do not contact amphibians as often as with each other, but this disease, like any virus, is easily transmitted at any contact. And if someone himself has reconciled himself to his warts, without revealing any harm from them, he should not forget that he can "reward" them with relatives at the usual handshake.

There are several types of warts. Simple look like dense rounded nodules of pink or light brown color, with a diameter of 3-10 mm. Flat, or juvenile warts on the arms are usually shallower, they are smooth, pale, and barely protrude above the surface of the skin. Pointed condylomas - the most conspicuous appearance - are bright, often merging together into the "cock's comb." But senile warts are not associated with the virus - these rather large brown, black or gray plaques occur in elderly people and can cause discomfort only to their carriers, as they are often injured (torn off).

Needless to say - the "decoration" is not pleasant, and although it does not carry immediate danger, still infected people often think about how to treat warts on their hands. Some, by the way, can go themselves, but one should not hope for it - with equal probability they can multiply. In the treatment of many resort to artisanal, folk methods. For example, a simple and safe way is to tie a wart with a thread so that it withers and falls off. A good effect of acetic acid, but with it you have to be extremely cautious, since the ingestion of caustic drops on healthy areas of the skin can damage them. A good result is the lubrication of warts on the hands of celandine juice, the application of grated garlic or raw potatoes. Other, more complex recipes, such as a mixture of onion, aloe and potato juice, or an ointment of unsalted pork fat and thyme are also used. Such methods can be used in different combinations and without fear - it is quite possible, they will help to reduce warts on the hands. But such radical ways, as moxibustion of lapis and other similar substances or independent cutting of warts by a razor, are strictly not recommended.

There is nothing shameful in referring to a doctor or a cosmetologist. In their arsenal there are many tricks, how to remove warts on your hands without traces and pain. For this, laser, electric current, liquid nitrogen, surgical knife and other proven means are used. At the same time, the doctor can prescribe a comprehensive therapy, including the use of various antiviral drugs - so that the wart does not appear in the new place.

There is nothing embarrassing about treatment, there is nothing to be infected with. And there is nothing complicated in the prevention of warts. Observance of elementary rules of personal hygiene, tactful caution when dealing with an infected person and strengthening the immune system will avoid a close acquaintance with this "sore".
