About football career

There are people who do not become famous footballers, but they turn into great coaches. And this is a well-known fact. In the same way, as not every brilliant player can become a worthy, well-explaining coach. This can be stated with confidence Claudio Ranieri. His professional career as a football player did not last long. He started with the famous football club "Roma", but played for the Roman team only six games. And this is for two seasons. After that, he left the club in the "Catanzaro", but also stayed there for a bit. Football player has replaced two more teams, and this is "Catania" and "Palermo". The player's career as such was practically non-existent, but the coaching career deserves more attention.

Coaching experience: the beginning

Claudio Ranieri became a good coach. One of the first in his career was FC Puteolana. However, the Italian did not succeed at that time. But in "Cagliari" he managed to become known as a coach. It was there that he made his name. Not everyone succeeded in almost immediately withdrawing the team from the C1 Series to the highest Italian league - to Serie A.

But in 1991 Claudio Ranieri left for Napoli. However, in two years he did not manage to achieve any significant results - no winnings. Because in 1993 he moved to the then played in Serie B "Fiorentina". In the first season, led by Ranieri, the "violets" returned to the top division again, and three years later the club managed to win the Cup, as well as the Italian Super Cup.

Successful years

In the life of the coach came the bright years. From 1997 to 1999, Ranieri was involved in the club "Valencia". The Spaniards became interested in the coach and offered him a very profitable deal. During these two years, he managed to bring the players, "Valencia" in the Champions League. In addition, they won in the Cup of Spain.

Then Ranieri moved to Madrid "Atletico", but there he was not able to achieve such successes, as in the case of the previous club. In 2000, the Italian invited to the post of coach London "Chelsea", where he stayed for four seasons. However, the team did not lead to the trophies, because of which he was fired.

Successful years on this were completed, and until 2007, the Italian unsuccessfully engaged first "Valencia" (again), and then "Parma". In Juventus, where he was invited in 2007, too, Ranieri did not gain a foothold, but with "Roma", which he coached from 2009 to 2011, he managed to win the second place in Serie A. Then, losing More and more often, he resigned, but in 2011 he took the post of coach of Milan "Inter". However, even there he was removed after six months. After that, he went to the "Monaco" and in the first season he returned the club to League 1, after which he left - in 2014. Then, two months later, in July, he was offered the post of coach of the Greek national team. But on November 15 he was fired, as for four matches held within the selection, the team scored only 1 point, losing to all who could only. And since 2015, since July 13, the Italian led the English "Leicester City".
