Inguinal epidermophytia treatment

Inguinal epidermophytosis is a disease that occurs with the lesions of the skin on the hips, in the groin and pubic area more often in subacute and chronic forms. The majority of people affected by this disease are adult young men between the ages of twenty and thirty. Inguinal epidermophytosis in women also occurs, but much less often.

Symptoms include symmetrical inflammatory elements of the rash that are prone to growth around the periphery and are localized in the folds of the groin, under the mammary glands and between the buttocks. These elements look like this: polycyclic reddish-brown spots, surrounded by a roller at the edges, which rises above the skin and is covered with pustules, blisters, scales, erosions and crusts. The appearance of these rashes is always accompanied by a strong, painful itching. This disease proceeds chronically, and becomes aggravated under the influence of special factors causing irritation, for example, sweating that occurs during the heat.

Differential diagnosis of this disease is carried out with various dermatoses, such as psoriasis, rubromycosis, eczema and many others. But, in the case of rubromycosis, for example, the affected skin is infiltrated, dry, with pronounced diffuse hyperemia and distinct fissures. Most often, all the interdigital folds and the skin of the soles are affected. Scaling is mycoid, the most expressed in the skin grooves. If the treatment is not performed, then the disease goes to the side and back surfaces of the feet and fingers, then the nails are affected and so on. In psoriasis, the process of sloughing of the epidermis is significantly accelerated (normally changes once a month), new cells appear on the surface every few days. And as a result, the skin becomes much thicker, psoriatic plaques of various sizes are formed, mainly affecting the buttocks, the lower back, the scalp, elbows and knees.

Inguinal epidermophytosis. Treatment. In the acute period, mostly used lotions from a 1% solution of resorcinol or a quarter of a percent solution of silver citrate, antihistamine and hyposensitizing drugs. Inguinal epidermophytosis, the treatment of which assumes an integrated approach, quickly loses its positions under the influence of local antimycotics "Lamisil", "Clotrimazole", "Nizoral", "Zalain." If the external funds are not sufficient, the use of the same drug "Lamisil" is recommended, but already inwards at a dose of two hundred and fifty milligrams per day for two weeks, or the drug "Itraconazole", at a dose of two hundred milligrams per day for one week. If the diagnosis is "inguinal epidermophytosis", treatment should necessarily be supplemented with vitamin therapy and immunomodulators. But in any case, before you start those or other of the above procedures, you need to consult a dermatologist, because only he knows what causes the disease and how to treat. The epidermophytosis of the inguinal is an intractable disease. The prescribed medication should be prescribed by an experienced doctor.
