Inconsistent definitions: examples. An agreed and inconsistent definition

If the main members of the proposal are the foundation, the secondary members are accuracy, beauty and imagery. Especially should pay attention to the definitions.

Definition as a member of a sentence

The definition refers to a word with an objective meaning and characterizes the sign, quality, property of the subject, which calls the word being determined, answers the questions: "what?", "What?", "What?", "What?" And their case forms. There is a consistent and inconsistent definition in the Russian language.

For example, "I loved watching a big beautiful white bird."

The word is a "bird". It raises the question: "which?"

A bird (what?) Is a big, beautiful, white color.

Definitions characterize in this sentence the subject by such signs: in size, in appearance, in color.

Definitions of "big, beautiful" - agreed, and " white" - uncoordinated. What is the difference between the agreed definitions from the uncoordinated ones?

Definitions " big, beautiful " - agreed, they change when the word is changed, that is, they agree with it in gender, number, case:

  • A bird (what?) Is big, beautiful;
  • A bird (what?) Big, beautiful;
  • A bird (what?) Large, beautiful.

The definition of "white" is inconsistent. It will not change if you change the main word:

  • A bird (what?) Is white;
  • Birds (what?) White;
  • A bird (what?) Is white;
  • A bird (what?) Is white;
  • About a bird (what?) Of white color.

Thus, we can conclude that this is an inconsistent definition. So, we found out how the agreed definitions differ from the uncoordinated ones. The first changes when the main word changes, and the second ones do not change.

Uncoordinated definitions with the meaning of the material from which the item is made

The uncoordinated members of the sentence are never expressed by adjectives, participles, consonant with pronouns. They are most often expressed by nouns with prepositions and without prepositions and have different meanings of the feature of the subject. One such meaning is "the material from which the object is made."

Uncoordinated definitions, examples with the meaning "material from which the object was made"

A girl entered the room wearing a cashmere sweater

Preposition + noun. In the genus. Case

Cups on the table were made of blue porcelain

Preposition and word combination: the adjective and the noun in the genus. Case

Uncoordinated definitions with the meaning of the purpose of the subject

Very often it is necessary to specify for what an object exists, then uncoordinated definitions that have the meaning "purpose of the object" are used.

Uncoordinated definitions, examples with the meaning "purpose of the subject"

Here you can take garbage bags

Preposition + noun. In the genus. Case

The boy was sitting, strict bars for bird cells

Preposition + word combination: an adjective and a noun in the family.

Uncoordinated definitions with the meaning of the accompanying subject sign

If it is said that something is available or something is missing from the subject of speech, then uncoordinated definitions are usually used with the meaning "concomitant subject sign".

Uncoordinated definitions, examples with the meaning "concomitant subject sign"

A man without a hat approached the monument

Preposition + noun. In the genus. Case

He, in a gray coat, did not stand out in the crowd

Preposition + phrase: adjective and noun in pref.

Uncoordinated definitions with the meaning of an object's belonging

Widely used in the language of inconsistent definitions, expressing the belonging of the subject or, more precisely, the ratio of the subject to another subject.

Uncoordinated definitions, examples with the meaning "belonging to an object"

In the silence of the room the crying of a child was heard

N. In the genus. Case

Behind the scenes the atmosphere of waiting and nervousness reigned

Homogeneous terms. In the genus case without prepositions with the union "and"

Delineation of uncoordinated definitions and additions

Since uncoordinated definitions are expressed by nouns, the problem arises of distinguishing between definitions and additions. Additions are also expressed in nouns in indirect cases and do not formally differ from uncoordinated definitions. To distinguish these secondary members is possible only in terms of syntax. Therefore, it is necessary to consider ways of delineating uncoordinated definitions and additions.

  1. Additions refer to verbs, gerunds, participles, and definitions to nouns, pronouns pointing to an object.
  2. To additions we put questions of indirect cases, and to definitions - questions of "what?", "Whose?"

Definitions

Additions

Running (what?) On the spot

Monument (what?) Of stone

She (what?) In the dress

Sits (on what?) On the spot

Made of

Was (in what?) In the dress

Uncoordinated definitions - pronouns

The role of uncoordinated definitions can be possessive pronouns. In such cases, questions are posed: "Whose?", "Whose?", "Whose?", "Whose?" And their case forms. We give examples of uncoordinated definitions expressed by possessive pronouns.

In its window, the light was on (in whose window?).

His girlfriend did not come (whose girlfriend?).

In their garden were the most delicious apples (in whose garden?).

Uncoordinated definitions are adjectives in a simple comparative degree

If the sentence contains an adjective in a simple comparative degree, then it is an inconsistent definition. It denotes a feature of the object, which is expressed to a greater or lesser degree than in any other subject. We give examples of uncoordinated definitions expressed by an adjective in a simple comparative degree.

Grandfather built himself a better house for us.

Society is divided into people smarter than me and those who are not interesting to me.

Everyone wants to grab a piece more than others.

Uncoordinated definitions - adverbs

Often adverbs act as inconsistent definitions, in such cases they have the value of a sign for quality, direction, place, mode of action. We look at sentences with inconsistent definitions, examples with adverbs.

Let's hear your neighbor's opinion (which?) On the left .

The little room was small with a door (which?) Outside .

The room was bright with a window (which?) Opposite.

Uncoordinated definitions - infinitives

The infinitive can be an inconsistent definition with nouns having abstract concepts: desire, joy, necessity, and the like. We look at sentences with inconsistent definitions, examples with infinitives.

Everyone would understand my desire (what?) To capture these magical pictures.

In the heart there is an ineradicable need to live (what?) To love someone.

The division will come up with the task (what?) To occupy the height on the right bank of the Dnieper.

Everyone should experience joy (what?) To feel like a person.

She had a habit (what?) To talk with someone invisible.

Separation of inconsistent definitions in Russian

The allocation of uncoordinated definitions on the letter with commas depends on the position taken and on their prevalence. Not inconsistent definitions that are directly behind the word being defined are not inclined to be isolated - the common noun.

On the outskirts of the garden stood a long shed (which?) Of the boards .

The old woman served sour cream in a bowl (which?) With a broken edge .

The girl (what?) In a blue dress stood at the entrance to the park, waiting for someone.

In the park (with what?) With cleanly swept alleys it was empty and boring.

The desire (what?) To survive at all costs possessed it all the time.

Uncoordinated definitions that stand after the main word - the name of the common noun - are isolated only if it is necessary to give it a special semantic significance. Let us consider isolated uncoordinated definitions (examples).

In that very jacket , of gray wool, she left the room, as if there had not been a whole year of separation.

This vase , with a broken neck, I remember from the very childhood.

If the inconsistent definitions are before the word being determined, then they are most often detached. Such definitions acquire an additional circumstantial connotation of meaning.

In a long, elegant dress , her sister seemed taller and more adult.

In a long skirt and with naked arms , the girl stands on the stage and sings something in a thin voice.

Always uncoordinated definitions are isolated if they refer to a personal pronoun and to a proper pronoun . Let us consider isolated uncoordinated definitions (examples).

She, with braids up to the waist , stepped into the middle of the room and looked for me with her eyes.

Marya Ivanovna , in a white starched blouse , loudly called the servant and told the girl who had come to take the scattered things away.

It (the sun), with a red-orange rim , hung very low from the horizon.

Practical task in the format of OGE
