Hyacinth water - one of the most beautiful plants

How fascinating the water, when beautiful flowers float on top of it ! Hyacinth water, green plague or eichornia - all these names and nicknames belong to the same plant, amazing and unique. This flower fascinates with its pristine beauty.

Description and features of the flower

This plant as if slides on the surface of the water, attracting the attention of fish and other inhabitants of the reservoir. Its leaves form a rosette. In this case, inside the swellings there is an air-borne tissue, which plays the role of floats, thanks to which the plant stays stable on the surface. If hyacinth water is growing in remoteness from other plants, the swelling resembles real air bubbles that do not give small ripples and waves to tilt it into the water. When around him there are many other of his fellows, then in such protection the need disappears, and the swellings become much smaller in size. As a result, they acquire an elongated, bottle-shaped shape.

All the inflorescences are violet-blue or yellow-pink, somewhat like the flowers of a hyacinth growing on garden plots. On the petals of this plant are dark-blue spots, and the middle of the flower is decorated with six stamens. In conditions of wild nature hyacinth reproduces by pollination, forming thus a three-cavity box, inside of which there are seeds. In the period when the water level in the rivers decreases, they dissipate, after which they settle on the silt, where they give their shoots.

In order to hyacinth water began to bloom, he needs an open pond, illuminated by the sun. This flower simply can not do without bright sunlight. The optimum summer temperature for him is +27 degrees.

An adult plant adorns about 10 leaves. In the flowering period, a flower spike grows from the very center of the rosette, on which an inflorescence is formed (from 5 to 12 colors).

Water hyacinth: nursing and some of its features

Very often aquatic plants are bred in domestic ponds, ponds and aquariums. After planting, you must ensure that the water is always clear and transparent, otherwise the flower may just die. If the water becomes cloudy, this indicates that the density of the soil in the pots in which the roots were placed is not high, so they must be transplanted into a denser soil. After planting, observe the growth of the water hyacinth. The period of its flowering is only one day. In the photos presented in this article, the hyacinth is imprinted in the prime of its strength.

After you have planted a sufficient number of aquatic plants, one of the main tasks remains to monitor the healthy appearance of the reservoir. The coastal and coastal zone should not grow too much, all unnecessary plants must be removed in time. At the beginning of spring, water can turn green, as in this time unicellular algae develop . To avoid this, you can drop the egg capsules, which fill the water with the necessary oxygen. If there are trees near the water, then do not forget to clean the pond from the leaves, otherwise their overabundance can lead to the death of aquatic plants.

At first glance it may seem that caring for an artificial reservoir is something impossible. But when you dissolve the water hyacinth in it, you will understand that everything is not so complicated, but the result is worth it!
