Human aggression: psychology comes to the rescue

Humanity rightfully calls itself the highest stage of the evolution of beings, but not only through reason, consciousness, intellect, but also through emotions. Emotions that can not be identified, reduced to a certain list of the main reactions of the organism to what is happening around and inside it. They are unique, amazing. Each of them can not be called negative, even when it comes to aggression. Sometimes it happens and useful. In what situations does aggression, the psychology of its occurrence, become dangerous and requires adjustment? Let's try to understand.

The concept of aggression can not be reduced to defining it as a negative reaction. Aggression (psychology has long come to this conclusion) is a whole complex of reactions, sometimes mobilizing the human body to take specific actions (which is good in some situations, and bad in others, not approved by society). It is not the main emotion, in its pure form, aggression includes a number of basic: anger, fear, disgust. Sometimes, with an admixture of surprise, and even joy.

It is possible to single out aggression as a temporary phenomenon peculiar to all people, but it is possible to have aggression, formed as a character trait. At such rates, and before antisocial actions are near. That's when aggression becomes dangerous and with these manifestations it is necessary to work: correct, redirect, smooth, change in the end.

Not for nothing in every kindergarten, in every school, and even in some large organizations there is a psychologist. Difficulties of behavior can arise at any stage of our lives, and we need to learn how to cope with them. And without psychologists sometimes it is quite problematic, especially in the case of aggression. Sometimes a person does not notice how aggressive he is.

The task of correcting aggression begins with a search for the causes of its occurrence. A person can copy the behavior of his parents ( this argument is especially true for speech aggression in children), relatives, friends, associates, peers. Or he can become aggressive because of some tragic events in his life. Reasons are identified in order to find suitable psycho-corrective measures.

Aggression is also seen as a reaction either directed at itself, or at others (at all indiscriminately, or at representatives of specific social strata). In the first case, aggressiveness is caused by low self-esteem, a string of failures, failures, depression. Can be accompanied by depression. The manifestations of aggression are also mass: in speech, in physical violence over others or over oneself, in anger, in outbursts of anger (a person can throw something, swing, but not strike, knock with his fist, raise a noise in a different way). Sometimes aggression, psychology also describes such cases, may not be noticeable to others, it may look like another emotion.

Identify the aggression, understand the reasons and determine whether the situation requires intervention by a psychologist, will help techniques to identify aggression. You will not find true psychological, serious, scientific, sound methods, they are not available in free access. But every psychologist has it. And yet, let's name them, all of a sudden you'll be able to find: Bassa-Darka's technique, Wagner's Hand-test, GP Lavrentieva's special questionnaire. (Used by psychologists in kindergartens). Help to diagnose aggressiveness and the "Drawing of a non-existent animal" (to children), and the color test of Lusher, the Rosenzweig pattern test, the "Unfinished sentences" test. Some of them are similar to tests, which we often saw in magazines, in newspapers. They consist of a series of questions, you answer and count the points for each answer. Some are rather unusual and resemble popular Rorschach spots (blots that judge your imagination, emotional state, and even intellect). If the first you will easily understand, then the second do not take risks (aggression, the psychology of man in general - very fragile "matter"), it is better to go along with a psychologist, he will help to draw the right conclusions, understand the instructions for interpreting the results. Especially important in the diagnosis and monitoring method (a person should be the most objective, it is desirable to use special equipment, and this can only be done by a professional), interviewing and analyzing behavior by a professional psychologist.

If aggression prevents you from living normally, developing, spoiling your relationships with others, if you are afraid for your child, who is often negative, contact a professional. The psychologist will help you learn how to deal with the negative and guide emotions in the right direction.
