How to use concrete-contact. Primer-concrete contact: technical characteristics

Before applying plaster or paint on concrete walls, floors and ceilings, a special primer must be used. Such means are intended to enhance the adhesive properties of porous materials. They include various fillers, which give roughness to surfaces. One of the best paint materials of this type is concrete-contact. Primers of this variety can be produced by different manufacturers, but usually it is not too expensive.

Description of the tool

A concrete-contact primer is made on the basis of modified acrylic copolymers. As a filler, it uses coarse sand. It gives the surfaces a uniform roughness. In addition, the concrete-contact primer penetrates deeply into the material, thereby strengthening its upper layers. Also, using the means of this variety allows to reduce the consumption of finishing finishing material.

By itself, concrete-colored contact has no color. However, manufacturers in the manufacturing process add a pink dye to it. This is done for the convenience of the consumer. The fact is that when applied to the surface of the color composition, the places that have not yet been processed are clearly visible.

For sale, concrete contact, a primer of deep penetration, usually in an already finished form. That is, you do not need to mix it up. To apply it to walls, floors and ceilings, a brush or roller is usually used. Some manufacturers produce concrete-contact, which can also be treated with a spray gun. To the main advantages of primers, concrete contact, in addition to low cost and good adhesive properties, include absolute ecological purity and the ability to "breathe".

Where applicable

Concrete, brick, block surfaces - on any of them, a concrete-contact primer can be used. Its application is also acceptable on GCR and any other smooth, finely porous materials. Use this adhesive composition for plaster as usual and decorative, wallpaper, tile and other materials. Sometimes this tool is used on rough walls and ceilings. This is done if they have hard-to-remove oily stains - from varnish, dyes, etc. It is enough to treat these places with concrete-contact, and they will become rough, and consequently, the finish will be very firm on them. In most cases, the tool of this variety can be used both for indoor and outdoor work.

Cost

"Starateli" - the most popular in our country concrete contact. The primer of this variety is well received by consumers thanks mainly to its high quality and quite democratic value. The price per kilogram of such a tool varies usually within the limits of 80-100 rubles. Also quite popular in the market is "Luxorite Beton-Contact", produced by KrasKo. It is a primer from this manufacturer about 65-70 rubles per kilogram. If desired, in the specialized shops you can find a cheaper primer of this variety. The usual, non-branded product costs about 30-50 rubles / kg.

Primer-concrete contact: characteristics

To use the means of this type can in most cases at a temperature of +5 g and humidity of air not more than 80%. Their consumption is 200-300 grams. Per square meter, depending on the porosity of the surface. The layer of applied primer dries out within an hour or three. Clean the walls and ceilings cleanly at least 12 hours. It is also impossible to delay this procedure. Plaster or wallpaper should be applied for at least 24 hours after the walls are treated with a primer. Otherwise, dust will settle on the surface, which will reduce the adhesive properties.

The absence of any smell is also something for which concrete-contact is valued. Priming of this variety even in closed rooms can be applied to walls and floors without the use of personal protective equipment.

How to apply

The walls are treated with a priming concrete-contact using conventional technology. Dilute the product before use with water or any other solvents manufacturers do not recommend. Before use, the concrete-contact must be thoroughly mixed. The fact is that the heavy components of this primer, such as sand and cement, are deposited on the bottom during prolonged storage. Periodically, the primer should also be mixed during the actual processing of walls or floors. Of course, before use, all surfaces should be thoroughly cleaned of dirt. Also, they should remove stubborn plaster and paint. The agent is usually applied in one coat.

Thus, the concrete-to-contact primer, whose consumption is not too large, can be used to pre-trim the walls, floor and ceiling surfaces in most cases. It is worth this tool is inexpensive, the effect of its use, including in terms of saving finish finishing, can be more than significant.
