What is the technology of laying paving slabs on sand?

You always want to make a homestead as beautiful as possible. Each owner wants his creation to attract the attention of all neighbors and guests of the house. This is best done when each element of the site is not only beautiful, but also harmoniously connected with other details of the landscape. Especially it concerns the paths, which simply must be beautiful and neat. To achieve this effect, you need the technology of laying paving slabs on the sand. About her today and talk.

First, a trench is dug out, in professional jargon called "trough". Digging should be at a depth of at least 0.25 m, but take into account that the upper edge of the paving slab should not hang after the pile above the path itself. After that, clean, high-quality gravel is poured onto the bottom of the ditch. If the track is intended to be used exclusively for pedestrians, then the technology of laying paving slabs on the sand provides for filling of 0.15 m of gravel.

In the case, when you fall asleep gravel for the path on which cars will pass, its layer should be at least 0.3 m thick. After filling, it is carefully rammed, and for this purpose it is best to use a special tamping machine.

After the pebbles, sand is poured. It is highly recommended to use a river, the size of sand particles is within 3-5 mm. In this case, it will ideally perform the drainage function, and the tiles will stand steadily in their place without the threat of erosion.

The minimum thickness of this layer is at least 5 cm. Like pebbles, it is carefully rammed and lightly spilled with water. After a couple of hours, the rammer is again rammed, bringing the surface to a perfectly flat state. Of course, the technology of laying paving slabs on the sand provides for the use of a building level.

On this preparatory work can be considered complete. In advance, sketch out the pattern, laying out around the ditch the supposed track drawing of at least a meter in length: so you will have a ready-made example before your eyes. Along the longitudinal line of the trench, make a marking in advance, which will indicate the location of the curb stone.

Experts say that the rules for laying paving slabs in the optimal variant provide for laying the elements diagonally, since in this case it is easier to withstand the correct pattern and direction of laying. Please note that for a better runoff of water it is necessary to lay the tile in such a way, so that per square meter of area there should be 5 cm of slope. Between the curbstone and the edge of the tile a small gap is left to soak up the water.

The material is laid, as tightly as possible, pressing it to the sand, using a rubber kiyanka and building level, leading to the desired value. If it is not possible to achieve immovability of the tile, it must be raised, sanded and repeated the procedure. Of course, all elements must be strictly horizontal in relation to each other.

Between them should remain a gap of 5 mm. After you finish the path, the technology of laying paving slabs on the sand provides for filling of sand on it and rubbing it between the tiles. To do this, you need to use a brush with a soft pile, since it will not allow leaving any traces or scratches on the material.

But the laying of paving slabs (the instruction for this process was higher) ends only after the compaction of the track with a vibratory tampering machine.
