How to knock down a child's heat: advice from pediatricians

When the temperature rises in an adult, everything is simple enough. I drank an antipyretic, I slept and I was ready. But if the thermometer shows above the cherished "37" from the baby, this, as a rule, causes the parents a real panic. How to knock down the heat in a child, so as not to harm him?

First of all, it is necessary to ensure access to fresh cool (but not cold!) Air in the child's room. Breathing it, the baby will lose heat and the temperature will drop a little.

A very important point in how to knock down the heat in a child is a warm drink. Not cold and not hot, but warm. The more your child drinks fluids - the better. Ideal for a variety of broths and compotes based on dried fruits. Many immediately begin to apply raspberries, but it is worth it to wait. In order to knock down the baby's temperature by sweating, you first need to give him a drink, so that there is more than sweat. Optimal choice - raisin water. It suits even babies, but too much to drink it is not necessary, because it can provoke vomiting.

Another old way, how to bring down the heat in a child, is the use of vinegar. In equal proportions, you need to mix table vinegar with water, and then rub the baby's arms and legs. If this method causes doubts in you, you can wipe your legs and hands with just water at room temperature, while the direction should be to the heart, and not vice versa.

Before knocking down the temperature, it is important to make sure that the crumb does not have diarrhea or vomiting. So it will be easier to understand in what form it is best to give it antipyretic (it can be syrup or candles).

Do not cover the baby with a wet sheet or a towel. However, it is very important to keep track of how much tissue is heated and change it in time. Do not also wrap the crumb in a towel soaked in iced water.

If the child has a high temperature and knock it down as quickly as possible, you can resort to a radical method, namely - rub it with vodka or alcohol. Due to the fact that they quickly evaporate, the skin surface also rapidly cools. However, this method causes some controversy.

In the period of illness, you do not need to insist that the baby eat well. The organism throws almost all its resources into the fight against the disease, and therefore it is simply no time to digest food.

With regard to antipyretic drugs, in modern pharmacies you can see a lot of those developed specifically for kids. Do not give the child an aspirin, which is so popular in adults. With influenza, chicken pox and some other diseases, its use can provoke the development of the so-called Ray syndrome - a severe brain and liver damage.

Also, do not give babies drugs that contain phenacetin, butadione, amidopyrine (pyramidone), since they are quite toxic.

Metamizole, also known as analgin, is also a danger to children. In particular, it can cause damage to the blood vessels, as well as a persistent drop in temperature (up to 34-35 degrees). In especially urgent situations, you can inject one injection of analgin.

Children up to 12 years of age are also contraindicated in preparations containing nimulide (Naise).

Drugs that are specially designed to bring down temperature in the smallest patients - Paracetamol for Children, Panadol for Children, Efferalgan, Kalpol, Cefekon D, Nurofen for Children.

But antibiotics for children at high temperature should be prescribed only by a doctor, having previously determined what exactly the sick kid is. Without confirmation of the diagnosis, give their baby is not worth it.

Now you know how to knock down the heat in a child. Be healthy!
