How to choose a computer? Quick Start Guide

If many years ago buying a computer for many was a whole event, for today it is, it might be said, a common thing, since a computer is now almost in every house. As it was many years ago, not many people understand how to choose the right computer and choose its configuration, just by fitting into the budget allocated for the purchase.

In large supermarkets of digital equipment, in most cases already assembled system blocks are sold, in the description of which the parameters of all installed components are not always indicated. That the most interesting, not always the seller in such shop can competently explain how to choose the computer necessary for you, and can only specify a place where it is possible to look the system block approaching to you under the price.

Buyers have to independently understand all the parameters of the computer before buying. Next, we'll look at a short guide that will give you, at a minimum, an understanding of how to choose a computer that suits your needs.

If you choose a computer for office needs, which will look at e-mail, type letters, view photos and surf the Internet, then you should not make any special demands on performance in it. For these purposes, even the cheapest computer that can be found in the store is suitable.

When choosing a computer for more serious needs, you have to stop at each individual device and evaluate it in terms of performance and overall compatibility. If you select a computer for games, it is best to look at the description of any modern game recommended system parameters and select components that are not inferior in terms of parameters.

Picking up the equipment, the first thing is better to choose a processor or motherboard. In the market processors are represented by two manufacturers, AMD and Intel. Which processor to choose in principle, is not so important, because you can always find fans of a particular manufacturer. Most importantly, the processor for today is desirable to install with four cores and a clock frequency of about 3GHz.

Choosing a motherboard also does not need to get hung up on the manufacturer, although ASUS has always been remarkable for its quality. The main thing is that the socket for connecting the processor on the motherboard is the same as on the selected processor, otherwise it will not be possible to install it. The other connectors in any case will allow you to connect all the other devices, but it is desirable that they work on the latest modern protocols. In other words, on a modern motherboard there must necessarily be such connectors: DDR3, SATA III, PCI-E 3.0 x16, USB 3.0. It is also desirable that the DDR3 memory connectors work in parallel, as will be evidenced by such a record "4xDual channel DDR3-2400". A good motherboard costs about $ 100, or even more.

Selecting memory, it is desirable to install at least 4 GB of RAM. It is selected based on the present connector on the motherboard and the supported frequency of the memory bus processor, which must be looked at in the description of the selected processor. If there are several parallel memory channels on the motherboard (4xDual channel DDR3-2400), it is desirable to fill all these slots with memory slots for the fastest possible operation of the system.

The choice of video card is mainly limited by its cost. Gamers, as a rule, are willing to pay for a productive video card to half the cost of the entire computer. On the Internet, you can find many reviews and comparisons of performance, on which you can base your choice. When evaluating the parameters of video cards, in addition to the frequency of the processor core and memory, it is necessary to pay attention to the bit width of the data bus. For example, with the same parameters for video cards, a higher-capacity graphics card will have more performance. The minimum memory capacity of the video card today must be 1 GB.

Strongly affect the speed of the system will also be the hard drive. It is best to install an operating system to install a solid-state SSD-drive, and for other information - a terabyte standard magnetic hard disk.

Which choice of monitor, DVD or Blu-ray drive, system unit, keyboard and mouse, in principle, is already unimportant, as this will not affect the performance. The only parameter that still has to be controlled is the power of the power supply that is installed in the system unit. It should be at least 500 watts, and preferably 600 watts. Also you can meet the recommended power of the power supply in the description of the chosen video card, since the video card will be the most gluttonous device in your computer.
