How is the history week at school?

Today, history teachers use a variety of techniques that significantly improve the effectiveness of the learning process. In particular, various forms of extracurricular work are widely used. One of them is the week of history. In school, extracurricular activities are activities carried out by students on the basis of their own desires and autonomy. Its goal is to learn modernity and the historical past. This activity is directed by the teacher, but it helps to deepen the students' knowledge of the subject.

Week of history in the school. Tasks

This form of extracurricular work contributes to the strengthening of children's interest in history as a whole, in the motherland and in the native land in particular, in understanding the patterns and their connection with modernity. In the process of activity, cognitive interest, curiosity of students develops. At the same time, various components of the work are combined, most fully meeting the level of preparedness of students and the pedagogical plans of the teacher.

Week of history in the school. Plan

For successful work, preparation is necessary. How is the history week organized in the school? The work plan is an integral part of this form of after-hour activity. First of all, it is necessary to determine the tasks, goals and content of the classes, the activities of the students. It is also necessary to appoint a teacher, under the guidance of which there will be a week of history at school. Activities should be clearly organized, the entire process of conducting classes is clearly structured. When composing the plan, the manager determines the form in which the work will be carried out, the topics. The time of the meeting is also determined, and the roles of the participants are distributed. The teacher should take into account the working conditions of the school, the interests of the students and their opportunities. The students themselves are involved in planning, their proposals and wishes are taken into account.

Tasks of the manager

The activities of the teacher should be carried out in a number of ways. In particular, the teacher determines the content of all work, sets tasks for the students. The head assists pupils, advises them in the process of work, coordinates their activities. Together with the children, they study the historical information they have identified, structured the collected material, which will later be used in educational work. Solving these issues requires a fairly close interaction, cooperation between students and the teacher, the ability of teachers to interest and enthrall children.

Forms of conducting classes

Opening a week of history in the school requires the teacher knowledge general pedagogical, methodical and general theoretical level. At the same time, the work allows the teacher to show initiative, his creative and organizational abilities. "Round tables," conferences, play staging, issue of wall newspapers, - this is not a complete list of forms of studies that can include a week of history in the school. Scenarios for quizzes, competitions, games are made taking into account the activity and abilities of children. For example, for pupils of the sixth grade you can play a play "Journey to the Middle Ages", high school students will be interested in an intellectual game adapted to the present, for example, "What? Where? When?" The forms of conducting classes can be very different: historical and literary talks on various topics, for example, about the wives of the Decembrists, the fate of Russian poets against the backdrop of historical events. The history week in the school includes also open classes (lessons-conferences, for example). Practical significance for deepening students' knowledge is excursions, trips to museums, visits to monuments and memorials.

How can you apply this knowledge?

During the week of history in the school, students are given different assignments. One such is the issue of a wall newspaper. In accordance with the level of knowledge given and topics. For example, one class makes up a newspaper on the subject "History of Antiquity", the other - collects material about the Middle Ages. It would be good to organize a wall newspaper contest. Using a computer and a printer, you can release this edition with a certain number of copies. It can publish student notes, crossword puzzles, riddles, drawings, poems on a particular topic. In addition, children can express their opinion on this or that event, the impressions they received on excursions. As a result, the publication of a school newspaper can become a constant hobby, in which both teachers and students will be interested.

Conclusion

It can not be said that the history week in school is a new form of after-hour work. However, it has enormous pedagogical significance. Today, there are many methodological developments, but the supervising teacher must be able to keep balance - do not take everything at once. It is necessary to evaluate soberly the possibilities, abilities, knowledge, activity, both one's own and children's. At first glance, holding a historic week seems like a very interesting work. But the teacher should not forget that every day and hour in this case should be clearly organized. Only then it will be possible to entice the children. The work plan should reflect only what can be accomplished and brought to its logical conclusion. Otherwise, children will have disbelief in the reality of the planned work, the interest in it may disappear. In addition, it should not be forgotten that the history week in the school, despite the existence of game forms for some classes, is not entertainment by and large. All activities must be directly related to the main program course of instruction in the subject.
