How are front silencers of front levers arranged

Silentblock is one of the constituent parts of the suspension. And although its size and design do not give the opportunity to associate it with any super-important element, such as a piston, it can still affect the safety of traffic, and very seriously. We will talk about one of the varieties of these devices, namely silentblokah front levers.

What are they?

The front silentblocks of the front levers are not fundamentally different from their "counterparts", which are mounted on stabilizers and shock absorbers. They all have the same design and are a small rubber-metal hinge, which consists of two metal bushes, between which is placed a rubber spacer.

Functions

The front silencers of the front levers are used to connect the suspension parts. Thanks to the inserts between the steel bushings, the front silent blocks of the front levers extinguish vibrations transmitted from one unit to another. Thus, we see that this part plays an important role in the car. By the way, it is on the silent blocks that the lion's share of impacts and oscillations is accounted for, which are transmitted as a result of the machine's impact on the unevenness.

Lifetime

As a rule, the front silent blocks of the front levers can function normally for 70-100 thousand kilometers. However, if they are subjected to increased load (for example, if the car constantly travels through pits), it will serve at least 40 thousand kilometers. You can determine the serviceable state of this part in two ways:

  • Visually. In this case, the state of the inserts is checked - if the exfoliation of the rubber begins, this part changes to a new one.
  • At the SRT. Here, a complete diagnosis of the running gear is made and then a decision is made about what measures to take.

You can also determine the current state of silent blocks by ear. When the car hits the unevenness, you will hear a loud, characteristic sound, similar to the rubbing of rubber about some detail (a small creak).

Well, in the end, a few moments about how to replace the silentblock of the front lever:

  • First, the wheel is removed from the side with which the silentblock creaks.
  • The threads of the ball and lever mounting bolts are cleaned.
  • The lever is unscrewed and removed from the fasteners.
  • Under the ball is brought a jack and lifts up the front suspension. After the jack is lowered in order to pull the ball out of the fist suspension. Usually it goes without much effort.
  • With the help of a stripper, the old rubberblock is pressed out and a new one is pressed into its place.
  • Mount the lever back and twist all the bolts.

Everything, at this stage, the replacement of silentblocks can be considered complete. As you can see, the process is not so difficult to go for help to specialists at the SRT.

Take care of your car and remember that the untimely replacement of silent blocks is fraught with not only a constant creaking in the cabin, but also a number of other unpleasant consequences, such as uneven tire wear and loss of handling.
