Homemade Feeding Trough for Birds

Any child needs to instill a love of living nature from childhood. In order for its development to proceed harmoniously, parents from early childhood should explain to their child that caring for animals, birds and plants is a must for every person.

Also, whenever possible, moms and dads are required to involve their children in labor and responsibility towards others. One of the first activities that you can spend with your baby is to help the birds in search of food in the winter. A bird feeder with your own hands can be a good start to your child's responsibility and care for others.

There are plenty of options for making a homemade trough. The easiest to make are feeders made from milk, juice or other products.

Children as early as 5 years can absolutely safely make them independently, of course, under the supervision of adults, since the kids will have to use scissors. Taking an empty bag, it is necessary to cut the hole in the middle. If possible, make it bigger, because the birds do not like the enclosed space. Attach a strong rope to the edges of the bag. Pouring on the bottom of the package millet, seeds or bread crumbs, the feeder can be hung on a tree branch. On the balcony it is not necessary to hang it. Flocks of birds will stop sleeping in the morning.

By the way, the tits are very fond of bacon. If you put it on the bottom of your feeder, they will have a real feast. Each bird has his own preferences. The most important thing is not to let them die in the winter from hunger. Birds will be grateful to the person and in the spring they will clean the gardens of pests. By the same principle, you can make a feeder from a five-liter bottle of drinking water, it will turn out large and in it several birds will be able to peck food at once.

When your child grows up, you can try to teach him how to make more complex feeders made of wood. They can look like houses. It takes more time to make it, but it's worth it, since children will be proud to say that they have already made not a simple feeder from the package, but rather a complex product that requires certain skills. In order to build such a house, you will need plywood, wooden slats, nails, wood hacksaw and a hammer. The base of the trough will serve as a square veneer. Reiki are fastened together in small carnations. You should have a cube. Metal corners can be used. In this case your feeder will be stronger. A plywood roof is attached to the cube. If you paint or varnish your house, then this feeder will last for more than one year.
