Hemophilus influenzae

Hemophilus rod is a rod-shaped, free-living microorganism that is the causative agent of hemophilic infection. It is transmitted only from person to person, most often - by airborne droplets. In Western countries, the hemophilic rods are not particularly worried about their carriers - there children are vaccinated against it, and in our country - no, few parents even imagine what it is. Any person in the upper respiratory tract has these pathogens. In the normal state, the hemophilic rod will not do any harm. But if your immunity is weakened, these microorganisms, which not so long ago were completely harmless, are activated and begin to cause a lot of trouble. As a result, it is unknown where it may appear meningitis, pneumonia, purulent cellulitis and other diseases. Those patients who have recently suffered serious infectious diseases, as well as children under the age of five, are practically defenseless against this bacterium. However, the very first in the risk group are children, whose age is less than a year, but more than six months. During this period (6-12 months), the child's organism is especially vulnerable, because by 6 months the protective system is no longer supported by mother's milk, and its independent functioning begins, as well as the first attempts to combat bacteria from outside. Today, almost half of all children have a hemophilic rod, and with the first problems with immunity, it can make itself felt. The transmission path is airborne or household, which is one of the reasons for the wide spread of these microorganisms.

Most people suffering from hemophilia infection are children under 6 years old. With disseminated infection, the pathogen from the nasopharyngeal cavity with the blood stream enters various organs, hitting some systems. It can also penetrate the cortex of the brain. The rod-causative agent can be of six types. It's worth mentioning that hemophilic infection of type b occupies a special place in this list, because these bacteria have eight genes responsible for different functions. In addition, it is the only causative agent out of all six possible that can penetrate the blood. Hemophilus infection type b is the most virulent. It is caused by the most aggressive wand of all possible types. If the child has such a hemophilia, the treatment will be rather difficult, because this agent is very resistant to antibiotics. This distinguishes it from other species. Haemophilus infection type b is the main cause of many diseases that affect children under the age of six. Their list is very large - meningitis, epiglottitis, pneumonia, septicemia. And this is far from all diseases, to which hemophilic type B infection can lead. In all these cases, this causative agent is the cause of a considerable part of cases of invasive diseases. For example, in 30-50% of cases, the cause of meningitis in children is a hemophilic rod. If it caused pneumonia, then this disease will occur with numerous complications.

If your child has a hemophilic rod, treatment is possible due to the appearance in recent years of a number of drugs that are able to prevent the effects of these dangerous microorganisms. Official medicine in our country does not provide for the vaccination of young children against this bacterium, but it is still possible. If the child has a haemophilus influenza, the prevention of the development of diseases can be carried out with the help of the French drug Act-Hib, which has proved itself well.

Unfortunately, adults often do not leave the haemophilic rod in peace, being the cause of superinfection, which manifests itself in bronchitis. Such pneumonia often occurs in parallel with pleurisy. If a haemophilic rod is detected, treatment is most often performed by etiotropic agents.
