The game "Sturmovik Il-2" has been, for the last 12 years, certainly the best flight simulator. And the popularity of it over time does not fall. What did this game deserve such attention for and really could not have come up with anything better for such a long time for computer games?

The reason for the success of IL-2 is probably in the theme, and even that the game itself resembles a T-34 tank - nothing outstanding in separate details, but together they create an impeccable combination. So, the game graphics by modern standards is far from ideal, if not more, but it has everything you need: cotton three-dimensional clouds, tracer bullets and shells, realistic flying details of aircraft and, finally, with great knowledge and precision, recreated samples of the aircraft themselves . The only currently serious drawback of the picture is its maximum resolution, which does not fit the now widely used 16: 9 monitor format. However, two small black bars along the edges of the screen are not such a drawback for a perfect game.

On clothes, as they say, meet. And if the first look at "Il Sturmovik 2" and does not make a stunning impression, but she herself is unlikely to leave anyone indifferent. The developers have tried scrupulously to recreate all the technical and aerodynamic features of World War II aircraft and the features of their management. The game "IL-2 Sturmovik" will not allow the player to "steer", as he pleases, - slightly pulled the RUS at the "Aerocobre" - and the plane skips in a corkscrew. All the maneuvers of the machine must be carried out taking into account its features and laws of aerodynamics, as well as taking into account the characteristics of enemy aircraft. In addition, the "Il-2" implemented the control of the engine and the pitch of the screw, which pretty much adds to the difficulties in controlling the aircraft, especially on Soviet models, where the propeller pitch was manually adjusted.

It follows from the described that the game is complicated, and this, in general, it is. Uploading it to your computer, it will not be possible immediately not to "topple Messer", but even to take off. For a full-fledged game in "IL-2" you need to spend time on training and money to buy a joystick, otherwise there's nothing to think about the online career of ace. But in this complexity there are also undoubted advantages, not only realism. The online society of virtual pilots "Il-2" is fundamentally different from other gaming communities. Here you can rarely hear foul language and insubstantial conversations. This game is played, as a rule, by serious, educated people, who are fond of aviation. An excellent TC communicator built into the game allows you to communicate simultaneously to a large number of players. Thanks to him, a person gets pleasure not only from the game itself, but also from pleasant communication with friends, who are often thousands of kilometers away.

However, do not be afraid of the special complexity of the IL-2. "Sturmovik" in this sense is a golden mean. There are no such difficulties in mastering, as in LockOn, but this is not a WoT type arakad.

For a person who is keen on the history of aviation or just wanting to feel like a pilot of the Second World War, there is no other alternative than the game "IL-2". Only when playing "Sturmovik" such things as boom-zoom, yo-yo, battle on verticals or bends become clear. No book or film will give a better idea of these things.
