Game StarCraft 2: system requirements, description and reviews

When the first part of the famous StarCraft series came out, it was a real boom among the players. A stunningly deep plot, verified balance and driving gameplay for a long time chained gamers to the screens of monitors. Time passed, tournaments were held, additions and continuations of the plot were released, and the game remained afloat, even when its graphics are hopelessly outdated.

But in 2010 a new part came to replace it. The developer released a continuation of the franchise under the slogan "Available to all", in order to continue the tradition of the series. Part was called StarCraft 2: Wings of liberty. The system requirements were really low, especially their lower bar. And unlike many other projects, the game on "minimals" works.

Gameplay

StarCraft 2, the system requirements of which we will be considering today, not far away from their predecessors and colleagues in the shop. This is a typical strategy in which you will have to extract resources (crystals and gas), build building units and laboratories for research.

Compared with the first part, there is little change: the rate of gas production is reduced, but the number of its fields is increased. Rare minerals are added, which bring 2. Resources more. In the rest, the gameplay itself has not changed.

The main change was a complete reorganization of the units: some were added, some removed, but most changed beyond recognition. But even here Blizzard did not disappoint and managed to maintain a decent balance, thanks to which gamers playing against each other on the network, always have a chance to win regardless of the chosen side. And this, of course, leads all players into rapture, due to what the reviews and the game receives only positive.

Plot

The history of the second part is a direct continuation of the series. You have to play three campaigns for the Terraces (people), Zerg and Protoss.

  1. For the Terraces you need to lead an uprising against the Dominion and become its savior instead of the invader.
  2. In the next part, you will play for the rescued Sarah Kerrigan. There it is necessary to rescue the grasped Raynor, and after that to finish the business begun in the first episode of StarCraft 2.
  3. In the last chapter you will pass the path of rebirth of the Protoss empire. Unfortunately, most of the campaign does not overlap with the story of the two previous parts, but in the end you will unite with Raynor and Kerrigan. Where it leads? Learn by yourself.

In general, the plot is uncomplicated, but it contains a place of love, intrigue, and betrayal. To the surprise of many players, a pleasant surprise was the nonlinearity of the plot. In the campaign, each of your choices will lead to the fact that you will have to play on a certain path. Choose what is more important to you: a durable or capacious bunker, more health for the soldiers or greater damage. Some missions affect the course of the campaign. For example, you have to choose the penultimate mission yourself. Depending on this, in the final battle Zerg will either not use aviation, or they will refuse "worms". This was enough to ensure that the game received the overwhelming majority of positive reviews.

Minimum

And now let's talk about what StarCraft 2 system requirements. As already mentioned, this game was to become available to most users, at least on the minimum settings, and it turned out. Of course, many will disagree, because each person has their own financial capabilities, but for 2010, StarCraft 2's minimum system requirements are quite democratic.

  • Windows XP / Vista. It's probably ridiculous to mention these operating systems in 2016, but if you have an old computer with XP lying around, then there's every chance of running StarCraft 2.
  • Dual-core processor. Suitable Intel Core 2 Duo or AMD Athlon 64 X2 5600. In fact, you have enough for any multi-core processor with a clock speed of 2 GHz.
  • 2 gigabytes of RAM. It does not happen much, but, judging by the experience of many players, even this minimum is enough.
  • 30 GB of hard disk space. Again, something that five years ago could puzzle many, at present, should not be a problem for most users. Especially considering that this space is needed for all three parts at once.
  • And of course, the availability of connection to high-quality Internet for updating content and playing on the network.

As a result, in 2016 the game should run on any, even the cheapest personal computer, because StarCraft 2 system requirements are not so high. In this case, you should not be afraid of a situation where these characteristics are sufficient only to run the game in the menu. StarCraft 2 really works on the claimed "minimal" without brakes and glitches.

Maximum

For those who prefer to play with quality graphics and effects, let's see what StarCraft 2 system requirements on the PC to run at maximum settings.

  • Operating systems Windows 7 / 8.1 / 10, fully updated. Of course, these are simply inflated expectations. The game that ran on XP, requires only 7-ku? Any decent gamer will say that this is nonsense. StarCraft 2 will work on the maximum even on XP.
  • The Intel Core I5 processor or equivalent. Despite the fact that Blizzard asks for this "family", since the game was tested on it, any similar quad-core processor will do.
  • Video card GeForce 650 GTX or Radeon 77XX series. The first thing that catches your eye is the 650 GXT, a budget game video card. That is, the game requires not so much high power for its maximum settings.
  • 4 GB of RAM. Anyone, even the cheapest laptop now has more. If your computer does not have enough memory, then the 2 GB card will cost less than the game itself.

As you can see, the maximum requirements are not so high, even for the 2010 game release. Blizzard kept their word, releasing the game for everyone.

Mac

Separately it is worth noting that the developer provided support for the application on platforms running Mac OS. What are the StarCraft 2 system requirements for a laptop Mac?

  • Mac OS 10.9 or 10.10.
  • A processor similar to Windows.
  • Geforce GTX 780M graphics card.
  • 8 GB of RAM.

As you can see, StarCraft 2 system requirements vary depending on the system do not change much. In this case, the main thing is that all elements are properly configured and compatible with each other. Ordinary assemblies of home-grown lovers may not be suitable.

The result

What can we say in conclusion? Blizzard continues to maintain the quality of its products. StarCraft 2, the system requirements which we considered today, is a direct proof of this. With minimal technical costs and requirements, users have received a high-quality interactive product that can satisfy the desires of any category of players, whether fans of the plot, graphics or classical strategy and PvP.
