Full review of the new Volkswagen Tiguan: specifications, design and fuel consumption

The compact, reliable and maneuverable crossover Volkswagen Tiguan is produced by the German automotive industry relatively recently (since 2007). It should be noted that this model has become the most successful almost in the whole history of the concern's existence. In support of this, we can say that the novelty for 5 years of production on the conveyor did not leave the first places in the sales ratings. But even the most successful models sooner or later need restyling. Therefore, in 2012 the company presented a new generation of the updated Volkswagen Tiguan. Design

Externally, the new "Tiguan" is not very different from its predecessor, in the design of the novelty there are only two main trends - to make the car more practical (especially off-road), and at the same time emphasize the company's corporate identity. By the way, "Volkswagen Tiguan" at the moment is produced in several modifications of the body, each of which is good in its own way. For example, the Track & Field version has massive thresholds and a bumper, indicating the car belongs to an off-road class. Well, the Sport & Style version, on the contrary, acquired sporting features, which makes the car more like a "car". In other details, the restyling jeep has much in common with its elder brother named "Volkswagen Touareg" (which is why they are sometimes confused by some motorists).

Inside

Despite the fact that the novelty is presented in four variations of the interior design (and this is quite a lot), the salon of the renewed SUV is still characterized by minimalism and simplicity. But nevertheless it is worth noting positive moments, which, by the way, are more than enough. Firstly, the model in question is equipped with a new multifunctional steering wheel; secondly, the dashboard now does not have such a poisonous-green illumination, and thirdly, a special place in the interior is occupied by seats that have acquired a more ergonomic shape and a lot of adjustments.

It is worth noting that the buyer of the German manufacturer has prepared a pleasant surprise, which consists in a wide variety of engines. They are now already 6 (four petrol and 2 diesel). As for the first type of motors, here the buyer can choose units with a capacity from 122 to 210 horsepower and a working volume of 1.4 to 2.0 liters. Diesel versions have a power from 110 to 170 liters. With., And their working volume is exactly two liters. By the way, the engineers developed all the engines anew. Also from scratch, a new transmission for the Volkswagen Tiguan is developed, the characteristics of which include automatic switching of seven gears.
