Adil Rami was born on December 27, 1985 in France with Moroccan parents who immigrated to a European country when they were young. At the age of 9 he joined the youth academy of a small club called Freyja, based in his hometown. It was there that he spent all his childhood.

In 2003, when Adil turned 18 years old, the club signed a professional contract with him. In his first season, Adil Rami appeared on the field only 4 times. However, already from the next began to come out in the basis much more often. In just three years he spent 58 games for the main team, during which he drew the attention of larger French clubs, including Lille, where he moved to in 2006, when his contract with Freyja expired.

Going to Lille

Adil Rami, whose photos at that time began to appear in local sports publications, did not immediately become the player of the foundation. The first season he, in general, held in a double, going out in the main team on the field only two times. However, the young guy worked tirelessly on himself. And already in the next season began to appear on the field much more often. Since 2008, Rami has won a permanent place in the starting lineup, which he retained for the next three years.

But in 2011 he received a favorable offer from abroad - the Spanish "Valencia" wanted to get a French defender. In the new club, Rami immediately got a place in the base and already in the first season played 53 matches, scoring 4 goals. In the second season, he began to go on the field much less often. He played 36 matches and scored two goals. And in 2013 it became clear that he had no future in "Valencia", so the club began to look for options to get rid of the player. For six months he went on the field only four times. Therefore, in winter, all the questions disappeared - Rami leaves the club. Italian "Milan" agreed to rent a defender for half a year for 400 thousand euros with the option of redemption of his transfer in the summer.

Moving to Italy

In "Milan" Rami immediately found himself in the starting lineup and played for six months 22 matches, scoring three goals in them. He proved to be a very important player for the team, so Milan made big concessions, agreeing to pay about four million euros to acquire the Frenchman. However, in the end, the transfer was not the most successful. For the whole year in "Milan" Rami held the same number of matches, as in the previous six months. And in the summer of 2015 he was sold to Sevilla, which paid him three and a half million euros.

Return to Spain

At that time, Rami had only the victory in the French Championship and the French Cup together with Lille in 2011. With Sevilla, he managed to add another trophy to his collection - the club won the Europa League in the first season of the Frenchman's stay there.

Adil immediately became a basic player and played 46 matches, in which he scored three goals. In the current season he appears on the field a little less often, in only 18 matches. The reason for this are injuries. The player's contract with the club is until 2019. And after his expiration, most likely, Rami will finish his career in "Seville".

National team appearances

In the French national team, Rami made his debut in 2010 in a match against the Norwegian team. In 2012, he already went to the European Championships as a base player. However, the decline in the "Valencia" led to the fact that after the tournament the Frenchman was practically not called into the national team. He missed the World Cup in 2014 and received a second call only in May 2016. As a result, he went to the European Championship in 2016 and spent 4 matches there, until he was disqualified for busting yellow cards. Total for the national team Adil held 33 matches.
