About Airlines

Aigle Azur is a French airline founded in 1946. It is considered to be the oldest private organization in France.

Between 1946 and 1955, the aircraft fleet included DC-3 aircraft. At this time, flights are beginning to be made to the settlements of Africa and the Pacific.

In the 1970th the airline was purchased by Lucas Air Transport. After that, its name was changed to Lucas Aviation. However, later it changed to Lucas Aigle Azur.

In 2001, the airline was purchased by the Groupe GOFAST organization, which was engaged in logistics and international freight traffic. In this regard, the name was changed to the original one. However, from now on the company begins to perform mainly short and medium-haul flights. The fleet of the enterprise was completely renovated. By 2007, the staff numbered about 450 people.

Aigle Azur: reviews of Russian travelers

Some travelers from Russia for 3 years of work of the airline in our market have already had time to use its services. In the work of the airline they distinguish both positive and negative points.

From positive it is possible to name:

  • Low cost of flights;
  • Professionalism of pilots;
  • Courtesy and delicacy of flight attendants;
  • The novelty of the fleet;
  • Qualitative, acceptable nutrition;
  • A small number of delays and cancellations of flights;
  • Availability of children's road kits;
  • The choice of places when buying tickets.

Most passengers from the negative moments highlight the inconvenience of the seats. Also travelers note that the quality of charter flights sometimes leaves much to be desired: children are not offered road sets, and in the salons is rather dirty and untidy. However, these shortcomings do not concern regular flights.

Aigle Azur is one of the oldest private airlines in France, which was established in the post-war years. For 70 years of existence of the airline three times its name changed. Now the carrier is engaged in the organization of regular and seasonal passenger air travel from France to the communities of Europe and North Africa. In general, passengers are satisfied with the quality of the airline. However, most people note shortcomings in organizing seasonal flights.
