Food: is this what we eat or what we live in?

We are what we eat. But at the same time, are not we what we are genuinely passionate about, what causes us aesthetic pleasure and gives us joy? Is food really just protein, fat and carbohydrates, or is there a more subtle concept of such a simple and such a multifaceted word?

Spiritual food - what is it?

Without food the body dies - this truth is elementary, so none of people forget to use food when hungry. Moreover, caring for the quality of food, a person is able to spend a lot of time and money, because physiological needs speak in us too loud a voice.

The body's requirements are normal, but is it not strange that by applying so much effort to meet only one of the natural needs, people have become unaccustomed to thinking about the mental energy supply, without which the human being is nothing more than a functioning organism.

Life, subordinated to instincts, brings a person closer to the animal level, regardless of his life conditions and material wealth. But do not think that people need spiritual feeding in different ways, and someone needs it, and someone is ready for the rest of their lives to be satisfied only with food in the stomach. To hear weak desires for high sensations and listen to them - too different things and all the difference between people highly spiritual and materialists is in this difference.

What is the food of the soul?

One hundred years ago, this issue would simply not be understood, because in each family the focus of spiritual food was the home Bible, which "for the salvation of the soul" was read, and as entertainment. Great attention was paid to the spiritual nutrition of the child, as to the basis of his perception of the world. Other nations and religious communities had their own "Bible" with their saving canons. But the essence of moral satisfaction from the study of the book was not in the form of submission and not in the name of the saint who utters certain axioms of life, but in a principled position deemed correct in the given society.

So, in no Holy Scripture of the world, whether he is written in Hebrew or Swahili, there will be no call to go out into the street and commit murder or theft, insult someone by word or action in return for good.

Spiritual food in the modern world

Of course, the Bible is good and right, but in the modern world there are enough other positive and powerful sources of recharge. We call this moment of power an aesthetic pleasure, and it can come from a good film that gives pure emotions, from a book that directs our perception of the right in the right direction, from a picture in a museum or a beautiful dance.

It is believed that quality spiritual food is a forerunner of inspiration, creative and other positive emotional impulses that are characterized as good and generous acts. Charity is another vivid example of properly perceived spiritual food of high quality.

Food for thought

Receiving any information that you need to comprehend, we thereby nourish the think tanks that are responsible for the reaction, logic, perception and many other mechanisms for processing information. That is, food is also a whole, undeveloped body of knowledge that requires analysis and our personal evaluation.

Why food? It is logical to assume that phraseology is built on a similar physiological process of taking, digesting and removing food from the body. Since the time of the first printed detective stories, it is commonly believed that the best food for thought is given by books, where the author offers the reader complex and intricate situations with the logical conclusion of history.

Food as it is

Food is an element designed to maintain vitality and tone of the body. In order to distribute uniformly to all organs and tissues, without excessive deposition or deficiency, nutrients must be fully absorbed, which means that they must be natural and have sufficient energy value.

Adepts of healthy nutrition since the time of Hippocrates derived a formula that is relevant for all ages: "Food should be a medicine, and a medicine - a meal." In fact, replacing the six known elements of the usual food with the same six, in the form of products representing actual benefits, we will lose the need, at least in numerous biologically active additives to food. This is especially important in the current situation with the environment.

What does food consist of?

Whatever exquisite dishes the culinary specialists treat us, the essence of each serving in a plate lies in a complex combination of six elementary elements: fats, carbohydrates, proteins, mineral salts, vitamins and all the familiar H 2 O.

The elements are the same, but their content in different products is uneven - somewhere fats are 70% of the mass, and somewhere in the same proportion of the product is occupied by proteins. Consider examples of the predominant content of nutrients in products that fall on our table:

  • Fats - contained in the composition of any fresh or processed natural dairy product, fat, liquid oils. Fats are divided according to their origin into animals and plant.
  • Proteins are not only a white component of a chicken egg, but also all fermented milk products. A lot of protein in fish and meat.
  • Carbohydrates are essential for brain function. Thermoregulation of the body is also part of the task of this element, so the complete elimination of carbohydrates in diets is unacceptable. Since all of them in the process of cleavage invariably become simple sugar, their use is recommended to be limited to natural fruits and non-starchy foods.
  • Mineral substances in the product are food of an auxiliary order, from which only salt we see and use in its pure form. The remaining elements - magnesium, phosphorus, potassium, etc. are distributed in food products and are part of vitamin-mineral complexes. In total, the food contains more than sixty minerals, and the absence of any of them in the diet affects the condition of the body as a whole.
  • Vitamins are required for better assimilation of food. These are vital elements responsible for the state of the immune system.

Water is the basis of the structure of our body, and to compensate for its daily losses can only be consumed from a half liter of liquids during the day.

In a day, the body needs to get from the outside: 85 grams of fat, 400 g of carbohydrates, 100 g of protein, about 0.5 tsp of mineral salts and vitamins with a volume of flaxseed.
