Follicular hyperkeratosis.

Hyperkeratosis of the skin is a very strong thickening of the stratum corneum, which becomes stiff and stubborn. You can even say that in some situations, the skin becomes like a shell or armor. There are many forms of this disease, in which not only the skin, but also the internal organs can suffer.

It can be said that follicular hyperkeratosis is the most innocuous kind of this disease. The pathological process is that small horny scales sloughing shut the follicles, which leads to their inflammation. Clinically, it looks like gooseflesh or the skin of a frozen person.

This process affects mainly areas of the skin that lack nutrition and moisture: shoulders, elbows, knee joints, and the outer thighs.

Follicular hyperkeratosis is a harmless disease that does not cause any serious disturbances in the life of patients. You can say that this is just a cosmetic skin defect. However, with improper care, the process can spread to the entire surface of the skin. In places of trauma, the skin becomes stiff and cracked. Secondary pyoderma can develop when infection occurs.

If patients unknowingly confuse a small rash with acne and start squeezing out the contents of the follicles, infection can also occur and the process will become acute.

Often we have the opportunity to see people suffering from hyperkeratosis in everyday life. This disease is absolutely not contagious and is a certain feature of the body.

There is an opinion that follicular hyperkeratosis is a consequence of the lack of vitamins of group B and E. As a result, the skin loses its elasticity and elasticity, becomes more prone to external irritating factor.

Some doctors believe that this disease develops under the influence of stress factors, as well as the negative impact of the environment. So the process is most often diagnosed in working-class males, who do not follow the hygiene of their own skin.

The possibility of forming hyperkeratosis as an allergic reaction to a long-acting allergen is not ruled out. Follicular hyperkeratosis can be formed by wearing clothes from cheap fabrics treated with substandard dyes. T-shirts and shirts made of synthetic fabrics can also provoke the process.

In some patients it is possible to reveal polymorphism of the rashes - a combination of several forms of hyperkeratosis. The process has a chronic recurrent nature and rarely progresses.

In the presence of complaints of rashes, and during an objective examination when a small-scaby rash ("goose-skin") is found, patients are diagnosed with follicular hyperkeratosis. Treatment should be comprehensive and focused, first of all, on the normalization of nutrition and the regimen of the day. All patients should understand that skin damage is primarily a disease of the internal organs (most often the intestine), and therefore it is necessary to start with the treatment of the latter.

Speaking of hyperkeratosis, one can not ignore the fact that there is no specific therapy for patients. Usually, patients are told what kind of lifestyle they should lead, how to eat properly, how to take care of the skin. Hotspots are recommended to lubricate with baby cream or oil, you can use softening ointments.

Effective in the treatment of this disease is the treatment of large doses of vitamin A and the smearing of affected areas with vitamin E.

It is possible to carry out general strengthening and immunostimulating therapy. For this purpose, aloe extract is applied to a muscle of 1 ml, vitamin C, 1 capsule 3 times a day, and multivitamin preparations.
