Fire escape: types and applications

Fire escape - this is a very important detail of any house. Important because it is this simple device that saves people in case of apartment fire or other dangerous incidents in a multi-storey residential building or another building. So, firemen can easily and quickly penetrate to the fire and eliminate fire.

Unfortunately, now this is not given due attention, and many of the stairs in case of fire, which are in houses of the times of the Soviet Union, are in unsatisfactory condition. It so happened that the municipal services do not allocate funds for such necessary precautions as a fire escape. For this reason, if possible, it is better to get down to business. Moreover, this is a guarantee of the safety of your family and your children.

People who live in new homes were a little more fortunate. The modern fire escape is mostly made of metal. It is very durable and withstands heavy loads. It is the most heat-resistant and at the same time easy to install. Of course, there are no fire stairs made of plastic or wood. But there is one exception - ladders, which can be made of wood. Their most important advantage is their low weight, which makes it possible to use this device in emergency cases. Most often they serve to lift the fire brigade to the first floor through the windows. Also, these stairs are folded for easy carrying, and even in this form they are convenient to punch wooden doors.

There are also rope fire ladders. But this kind of their appearance is rare. In our country they are practically not used, but here in other countries, for example, in Japan, they are used. In this country, there are such ladders in every hotel room. They help to evacuate people during earthquakes, which so often happen in these places. It's interesting that people make rope ladders by hand, using simple knots that have one after another.

Let's return to the houses that were built during the Soviet era. It often happens that in such buildings there is a fire escape on the balcony. Some owners of apartments are very unhappy with this turn of events. Some of them leave everything as it is, and others even clean the stairs and weld the hatch, violating the safety rules. Do not do this! It's terrible to think what the residents of this house and firefighters will do in the event of a serious fire.

The fire ladder is not just a ladder. This is a very, very important element of an apartment building. And if all people neglect safety technology, it is not known who will be responsible for the incident. The presence or absence of access to fire escape ladders has not been controlled in our country for a long time. They were removed, locks hang on hatches. People are afraid of thieves and want their balconies to be beautiful. No one even thinks about the fact that everything happens in life, and that none of us - residents of multi-storey buildings - is immune to accidents ...
