Is everything so simple: a program for recording discs

Progress in computing has been more rapid than ever before. What several years ago seemed just fantastic, has already become a daily reality. As an example, it is enough to recall the heyday of compact disks (CDs) with a capacity of 650 megabytes, then gradually replaced by their advanced colleagues with 700 and even 800 MB. At that time, such dimensions seemed, if not colossal, more than sufficient for the average user. In addition to the volume, it was very easy to use these media: the programs for recording discs were selected and information was used to drop them onto a "blank" (blank disc).

Now, after so many years, you can mentally look back and analyze the development of such media. As you know, manufacturers of hard drives offered more and more new models with a large amount of disk space. In fact, this meant that the limit on free space size was removed for all applications.

Distributions began to grow, and films were compressed in high quality (more size). As a result of each owner of the CD-RW drive, once thought that 700 MB of compact disc was not enough and you need to change something. Just at this time, "completely by accident" was proposed DVD technology, in which the program for recording discs allowed to record as much as 4.7 GB. It was a breakthrough. Even now, when the DVD media pressed off under the onslaught of Blu-ray discs that replaced them with 25 GB or more, they are still actively used.

To burn a disc, you need: a record for recording discs, the corresponding drive and the prepared data. By pressing several buttons in the program, you can record the necessary information.

Surprisingly, many were skeptical (and even now relate) to the length of storage of the carrier itself. It was believed that 5-8 years is the limit for a budget compact disc, then, as a result of air penetration and the effects of temperatures, gradual destruction begins and the recorded information can not be counted. It can be argued that 90% of goods from different manufacturers have successfully passed the test of time and even after 10 years of accurate operation they regularly store data.

In addition to the quality of the media, the used program for recording discs affects the security. It is not always obvious, but, nevertheless, it is so. Each developer of such programs implements his algorithm of recording and controlling the drive, sometimes successful, and sometimes not.

The most famous program for recording discs is the famous Nero from German professionals. It was one of the first such programs on the market, which to a great extent determined its future popularity.

Now there are alternative solutions, but the convenience of the above is not detracting. It should be noted that the company Nero AG has taken a course on the production of real software combines: here and the program for burning Nero Burning Roms, creating cover designer covers, and the Wave Editor sound editor, and much more. Perhaps there are people who are ready to pay 70 euros for a full package of Nero Suite, but this solution does not seem optimal.

You can burn a disc by using the wizard built into the Windows operating system. You should open My Computer and drag the desired folders and files to the icon and letter of the CD. A dialog box appears, each action in which is accompanied by prompts. Although the configuration options are smaller than in Nero, but it is conditionally free and all available.

An alternative product for recording is Ashampoo Burning Studio. No less famous than Nero. Sometimes it allows you to burn a disc when other programs can not finish the session correctly (AHCI problem for some drives).

Free programs include BurnAware, ImgBurn and Small CD-Writer. Often, their capabilities are sufficient for the average user.
