Filters main for cold water: overview, choice

Filtration devices for water have many varieties, differing in design, cleaning efficiency and other parameters. One of the most popular systems is the backbone. It represents a wide group of devices that can be integrated directly into the water circuit. The most common filters are main for cold water of household type, but similar systems are used in industry. The purification capabilities of such equipment allow it to be installed even in medical institutions where higher demands are placed on the quality of water.

Features of the design of main filters

The construction device is conditioned by the nature of the equipment operation. The filter is a modular device that is built into the water pipe. Thus, a technological cleaning unit is organized, from which the fittings for connecting the pipes depart. Typical water purification equipment of the main type includes a pressure reducing valve and a washable filter element for fine filtration. During operation, water passes the filtration barrier, heading towards the outlet fitting. Washing of cleaning material is carried out with the help of a ball valve - pollution is removed through it.

The filter sets may vary, but the basic structure usually includes parts for threaded connections, valves and a pressure gauge to monitor the pressure readings. On the operation of the circulating system as such, the main water filters for cold water practically do not influence. In modern versions of the equipment manufacturers strive to minimize the water retention coefficient when passing the filtration material, which allows balancing supply and output forces.

Equipment advantages

From the point of view of household use, the main means of water treatment are convenient for use. When using jug filters, a manual process organization is required, and the system integrated into the waterway system does not involve user intervention in the workflow. With regard to efficiency and quality, the main purification of drinking water is fully in line with the requirements of sanitary standards. A multifactorial water treatment is implemented, which relieves the liquid, including chlorine and rust. Elimination of impurities is also important as a way of preserving water circuits, which are adversely affected by direct contact with mechanical particles. In terms of maintenance, too, special problems such systems do not deliver. It is enough to change the filter material as it wears out. Depending on the type of this material, the working resource varies from 15 to 60 thousand liters.

Types of devices

As already noted, filters of this type can be designed for home and industrial use. So, household filters are characterized by more fine cleaning, small size and less high working life. Industrial models are guided by the disposal of water from large impurities - this applies to models that produce industrial water. For sanitary purposes, where the same pure drinking water is required, a fine filtration stage is also envisaged.

Separate the main treatment facilities and the number of modules, that is, those same stages of purification. The main share of the segment is represented by models with 1-3 modules. An industrial filter that implements rough cleaning for the use of liquid for operational purposes may have a single module. It will rid the water of rust, sand, metal suspensions, etc. One cleaning module can also be supplied with household filters designed to perform household tasks. Such a filter can be installed directly on the supply line of the washing machine or dishwasher. Multi-stage cleaning is carried out by two- and three-module devices, which besides eliminating heavy impurities also rid the water of toxins, harmful organic substances and even unpleasant odors.

Manufacturers

The segment of filtration equipment in Russia is rather narrow, but the choice is enormous. The most famous companies are "Aquaphor" and "Geyser", which produce filters of different levels and types. In particular, "Geyser" offers a modification of "Typhoon 20ВВ", intended for fine preparation of drinking water. The direct competitor of this device is the main filter "Aquaphor Viking", which provides cleaning at a speed of 25 liters per minute. The features of this model include compact dimensions with the possibility of installation in a hard-to-reach place. Interesting offers are also in the Honeywell family. Model FK06-1 / 2 is quite suitable for domestic household tasks, if it is required to rid the flow of mechanical impurities, suspensions and rust.

How to choose the main filters for cold water?

First of all, an approximate volume of water is determined, which will be used at peak loads. An example of the "Aquaphor" filter with a cleaning speed of 25 l / min can be called an average. To service household needs in the apartment is enough and 10-15 l / min. High-performance equipment for water treatment in production can also provide 50 l / min. Further, it will not be superfluous to estimate the temperature limits in which the filter can be operated. Models designed to handle cold flows are usually allowed for use at 35-40 ° C. For comparison: hot water systems are supplemented with devices that support operation at a temperature of about 95 ° C.

Do not forget about the working pressure. The cleaning mechanism must cope with the loads in a particular water pipe. Standard water purification in the apartment can be performed at a peak inlet pressure of 6-7 atm. In the industry, devices are used that can withstand up to 25-30 atm.

How to choose cartridges for filters?

Like pitchers, main cleaning devices do not work without special cartridges. Actually, the capacity and quality of water treatment depends to a great extent on them. It is advisable to choose cartridges from the range of the manufacturer that released the filter itself. For example, "Geyser" recommends using the consumables of its own series "Aragon". The company "Aquaphor" is famous for its own cartridges no less than the housings for filters. If the purification of drinking water is planned, the cartridge must support fine filtration with elimination of all harmful impurities. If this is unnecessary, and the filter is oriented to rough cleaning, then the cartridges must be of the appropriate type.

Conclusion

Backbone water treatment systems are much more expensive than manual filters. The same models from the firms "Geyser" and "Akvafor" are estimated at 10-11 thousand rubles. But it is important to understand that these costs pay off. First, the main water filters serve for longer periods, requiring less frequent replacement of the active cleaning element. Secondly, the use of filters embedded in the water supply saves the user time, saving him from unnecessary operations. And this is not to mention saving space in the same kitchen - the filter is hidden from the eyes and does not become a hindrance in everyday life.
