However, the biography of Frunzik Mkrtchyan was full of tragic events, many of which were known only to the closest friends and relatives.

Parents

The boy, whose family was called Mher, was born in 1930 in the family of Mushegh Mkrtchyan, who, in order to escape the massacre, left Mush (Turkey) as a child. Already in Leninakan (in Gyumri) he met Sanah, a refugee girl from Van. Following Frunzik (the official name recorded on the birth certificate), the couple had three more children: Albert's son and daughter Ruzanna and Clara. The family lived poorly, since the parents worked at a textile mill, and their wages made it difficult to make ends meet. At the same time, they dreamed of an unusual fate for their children. In particular, the brother of the artist - director Albert Mkrtchyan - recalled that his father always hoped that the eldest son would become an artist.

Biography of Frunzik Mkrtchyan: childhood

As a teenager Mher "fell ill" movie. Since in his native city almost all adult men defended the Soviet homeland at the front, the boy was pleased to hire an assistant projectionist to the club of a textile mill. So, he could freely watch all the films that were brought to Leninakan. In addition, he enthusiastically played in the local drama circle, although terribly complexed because of a too big nose.

Carier start

It should be noted that Gyumri is rightfully considered the cultural capital of Armenia. In addition, this ancient city is home to many talented actors, directors and artists who are known far beyond Armenia. For example, few know, but, except for the Mkrtchyan brothers, Edmond Keosayan, Svetlana Svetlichnaya, Sergei Merkurov (author of the monuments to Tolstoy and Dostoyevsky, established in Moscow, etc.) were born there, as well as the star of German cinema of the 30-40's Olga Chekhova.

The first dramatic performance in Alexandropol (the name of Gyumri during the period of the Russian Empire) was staged in 1865, and theatrical traditions were always strong there. That is why many young Leninakans dreamed of becoming actors. Frunzik Mkrtchyan also belonged to this group, who was very happy to enter the studio at the Vavilov Theater. A. Mravyan. There he immediately began to trust serious roles with which he coped well. After some time the young man decided to continue his education and went to Yerevan, where he graduated from the Theater and Art Institute.

The first works in the cinema

While still a student, Frunzik starred in a comic episodic role. The first film in his extensive filmography was the painting "In Search of the Addressee" (Yerevan Studios).

In 1956, the actor was accepted to the troupe of the theater named after G. M. Sundukyan in Yerevan and during the next 9 years he starred in 6 films (For Honor, What the River is Talking About, The Guys of the Music Team, etc.) Which are included in the golden fund of Armenian cinema art. Particularly noteworthy is his role as Dumbus Arsen in the last film in which he moved away from his comic line and played though a joke-loving but honest and fair soldier who is respected by fellow military band members.

Glory

The further biography of Frunzik Mkrtchyan became the envy of many of his classmates. And this is not surprising. After all, in those years artists from the Union republics simply dreamed of participating in films that were filmed in well-known capital film studios.

In 1965, George Danelia invited the hero of our narrative to the episodic role of Dr. Brooke in the painting "Thirty-Three". Thanks to this picture Frunzik was noticed by Leonid Gayday, who chose him for the role of Dzhabrail - Uncle Nina - in the cult Soviet comedy "The Caucasian Captive." He made Mkrtchyan famous already on the all-Union scale, especially since many of his hero's replicas became winged, and they could be heard, literally, at every step. Then followed such works as the role of the pirate from the "Aibolit-66" Rolan Bykov and the militiaman Frunzik Koburyan from the "Rainbow Formula" by Jungvald-Khilkevich.

Further career

In addition, Frunzik became one of the few Soviet actors who managed to win the hearts of Indians, as he played in two films of the joint production of "Uzbekfilm" and Eagl film.

Unfortunately, outside of Armenia, the audience could hardly see such magnificent works of the actor who acted in a tragic role, like "Slap", "Song of the Past Days" and "Tango of Our Childhood". Although after a while Frunzik again married, this marriage also did not bring him happiness, especially since the young beautiful wife was not going to bear the vagaries of the son of an artist suffering from the same disease as his mother.

The last years of life and death
