"Feast of the ax" - fun, interesting, for any farming useful

Ax - the tool of labor is very ancient. At the dawn of humanity they were stone. When analogues like modern ones appeared, hardly anyone knows for sure. But with the fact that the ax in Russia was almost the most popular tool of labor, everyone agrees. The people added about him a lot of sayings, for example this: "Without taking an ax, and the hut is not cut down", or this: "He said he had been cut off with an ax". From it even porridge in a fairy tale was brewed. So it's not surprising that a new festival was born, called "The Feast of the Ax". For the first time it took place in 2008 and for 7 years it became unusually popular. It could not be otherwise, because this is a national holiday.

Place and time

Every corner of Russia is famous for its craftsmen. In the Tomsk region, they say, there lived unusually talented carpenters and carpenters. To restore their business, the Festival "The Feast of the Ax" was conceived. For the first time it was held from 8 to 10 August in 2008 in the village of Zorkaltsevo, which is on the Poros River, 20 km from Tomsk. In subsequent years, the date was shifted. So, in 2014 the festival was held from 21 to 24 August. To participate in it were declared not only Russian masters, but also carpenters of England, Norway, Finland. However, abroad around these days, there is a festival, so the masters could not come. In the future it is planned to hold the "Feast of the Ax" in the first half of August. Grounds for the contestants are in the park "Okolitsa". 17 hectares are allocated for this purpose. Participants live in tents on the shore of Poros, near the observation tower, built by the previous contestants. Here is the field kitchen.

Competitions

In the program of the festival there are 3 main competitions:

1. Competition teams. They need to build a toy house out of logs.

2. Competition of individual creativity. Here the masters will compete, who will build the most beautiful shop.

3. Fantasy competition. Here craftsmen will have to make a wooden sculpture.

Winners are waited with awards - carpentry tools, a crystal ax, diplomas.

In addition, the festival "Feast of the Ax" has many other fun contests, such as:

- who will more accurately throw an ax in the goal;

- who sharpens the stake sharply;

- who is better than all the firewood naklet;

- who will more accurately chop off the bar exactly at 56 mm.

Activities for guests

Tomsk is famous for its rich history. "The Feast of the Ax" offers its guests an interesting excursion program around the city and its surroundings, even Zorkaltsevo is curious because Hannibal himself, who later became Pushkin's grandfather, stayed here for a long time. Also at the festival there is a fair of souvenirs, amulets, wonderful handicrafts, folk art groups singing and dancing, varenichki, shanezhki, shish kebabs and many other dishes of Russian cuisine are offered in vain from the fire. For children there is a wonderful children's playground, children's competitions are held . For connoisseurs of art an exhibition of paintings, performances of poets is organized. The contest "The first guy in the countryside" is very fun, there is even a fashion show. And fans of water procedures are waiting for a local pond.

Dreams and plans

Festival "The Feast of the Ax" was organized in order to attract carpentry youth, so that the business of the old craftsmen would not be forgotten. Similar holidays were held in other regions of Russia, but only in Tomsk it became international. Brigades from Mongolia, Kazakhstan, Khakassia, the Czech Republic, Bulgaria, Finland, England already want to take part in the holiday. On the "Feast of the Ax" in 2014 came more than 50 thousand people. In the following years, even more guests are expected. They decided to build a hotel, which will be made only of wood. For kids already equipped with a small zoo with dots, chicken, pigs. There are even ponies on which you can ride. And the cow is milked right before the eyes of the audience, so you can taste the milk of milk.
