Elm - tree-long-liver

Any tree of the Elm family is a majestic plant with a powerful spreading crown, the dangling branches of which form a dome giving a great shadow. It is due to the appearance of their often used for gardening of cities and park recreation areas. The foliage of this perennial is large, up to 15 cm in length, deep emerald green, closer to autumn, it begins to turn yellow and at the time of discharge it becomes golden in color. Flowers in the form of dense bunches with green-brown small (no more than 20 mm in length) buds with white stigmas and purple anthers appear on it in the spring.

Elm is a tree that belongs to the deciduous species of the family of elm trees, numbering only about 30 species, but this plant is the only species capable of preserving its crown throughout the year.

It feels great in a temperate climatic zone, it is this natural belt that is the area of its distribution, but there are species that occur in the tropics of the Northern Hemisphere. Elm - a tree whose life expectancy is estimated for centuries, you can see representatives of this genus, over 500 years old. In addition to attractive external features, it has a certain set of properties that enable its use in construction, as well as in the manufacture of furniture. The most popular types of elms are elm, elm and birch bark. All of them tall - up to 30 m, with a thick powerful trunk portion, and the diameter sometimes reaches 20 meters.

Ilmas are very photophilous, they feel great in open spaces with soils provided with a good drainage system.

When planting it will be necessary to use stimulants of biological origin, they will help the young tree to form a powerful root system and protect itself against diseases, the most dangerous of which is the Dutch disease. Elm is a tree (the photo you see in the article), very susceptible to it, and after infection quickly enough begins to dry up to its fullest doom.

During the trimming, the entire procedure must be carried out in such a way that one main shoot is formed on the tree, from which the thinner branches will depart. Such artificial formation of the crown will reduce the risk of falling of the elm or the split of the trunk under the weight of already mature shoots. Those that have been damaged by strong gusts of wind are to be removed, this must be done so that the tree fungus does not begin to form on the elm trees. With regard to full-fledged live branches, they are removed only for the sole purpose - to ensure the penetration of airflow and sunlight deep into the crown. This measure protects the elm from diseases that can develop because of the lack of light.

Elm is a tree highly esteemed by the Druids. They believe that this tree can take away the extra energy from the world, so that it does not do anything stupid, and give a person who asks for help, spiritual strength. In their opinion, the elms can protect themselves from making wrong decisions and promote promotion on the career ladder.
