There is a city in Russia that impresses guests with its versatility. It skillfully combines a high level of development of industry, science, culture and art. This is Yekaterinburg. The sights of the city include in their list more than six hundred monuments of history and culture, which deserve attention. However, for one trip to inspect all of them is simply impossible. I want to tell you about the most interesting places in this article.

One of the main attractions of the city is the dam of the city pond, located on the river Iset. Built in 1723, it served to supply mechanical energy to the plant around which the city was founded. Residents of the city have chosen this place for conducting public festivities and holidays.

Ekaterinburg - the sights of this city include historical buildings, monuments, modern buildings, and numerous places for entertainment. The most popular place for tourists is the current Orthodox Church-on-the-Blood, which is a whole cultural and historical center. The construction of the temple was carried out at the place where the Emperor of Russia Nicholas II was shot in 1918.

Among other architectural structures , you should see the Sevastyanov House, erected in the early nineteenth century on the Iset coast in the most economic flourishing of the city of Yekaterinburg. Sights of this period not all survived to our time, so this building is the only model, among other structures of the Ural-Siberian region, which is built in the Gothic-Moorish architectural style.

One can not ignore the Alexander Nevsky Cathedral, built in 1814. This building belongs to one of the best buildings in Yekaterinburg. And what a magnificent spectacle is the palace and park ensemble Kharitonov-Rastorgueva Manor, built in the eighteenth century. It is impossible to pass the chapel of St. Catherine. Earlier in place of the chapel stood the Catherine's Cathedral, which was the first church in the city. In 1930, it was blown up, as did many churches in Russia. Only in the late 90's a chapel was built on this place.

Arriving in Ekaterinburg, whose attractions are not only historical buildings, you can see a lot of places telling about military history. One of these is the square of the Soviet Army, where the building of the District Officers' House rises. This structure belongs to the buildings of the Stalin era. On the right side of the building is the Museum of History of the Ural Military District. In the inner courtyard of the museum there is a small playground, where an interesting exposition is located in the open air. It includes samples of heavy equipment that was in service with the Soviet Army during its existence.

But that's not all the sights. Ekaterinburg is famous for its huge number of monuments. In the central part of the city there is a monument to the Invisible Man, which is a bronze slab with prints in the form of two feet. No less interesting is the monument to the founders of the city. Very close to the shopping center "Antey" is a monument to Vysotsky. Among modern facilities, it is possible to note a monument to the keyboard, located on the embankment of the Iset.
