Effective preparation for topical application: "Yoks" - instruction for use

The drug "Yoks" is a tool for external use. The active substance in it is povidone-iodine, an antiseptic with a wide range of action. In comparison with the usual iodine (alcohol solution), its action is more prolonged, while it is more sparing: povidone-iodine does not burn mucous and skin.

Based on this compound, several medications have been created: Betadin, Vokadin, Iodosept and others. "Yoks", the instruction to which speaks about its activity not only in relation to bacteria, but also fungi, protozoa and viruses, is by far the most popular one today. It effectively cures colds of the throat, copes well with stomatitis and glossitis - inflammatory diseases of the tongue, which can be caused by infection or trauma. The instructions for use on the preparation "Yoks" contain information about its composition: so, in addition to povidone-iodine, it contains allantoin - a substance with astringent and anti-inflammatory properties. Over the years, it is included in the composition of anti-aging creams, as it accelerates the regeneration (restoration) of tissues. These properties of allantoin are indispensable in the treatment of diseases of the mouth and throat, which are most often very painful.

Containing all the necessary information about the drug "Yoks" instruction for its use recommends using this tool for catarrhal, follicular and lacunar angina, chronic tonsillitis, pharyngitis and glossitis. Despite the wide range of action of this drug, treatment by no means abolishes antibiotics. If the doctor has prescribed antibiotic therapy for you, the drug "Yoks" (the instruction specifies it) should be used in parallel. Together, so applying it simultaneously with other local means, for example, to rinse the throat, can cause an undesirable chemical reaction. So, do not use it with hydrogen peroxide. It is not combined with salts of copper and iron, mercury and lead, mineral acids, alkaloid salts, etc. If you are taking or are taking any medications for local treatment, intending to use this drug, you should consult a doctor.

The drug "Yoks" is available in two dosage forms - a concentrated solution and a spray. The latter can be used in the treatment of only adult patients and children older than 8 years - in the event that they are able to hold their breath and there is no danger that they accidentally inhale the drug when sprayed. It is applied 2-4 times a day. "Yoks" -solution instruction allows children from 6 years and adults to apply. It is used for washing inflamed surfaces and rinsing them. Before use, the concentrated solution is diluted with water: 0.5 teaspoon per 100 ml. Rinse your mouth or throat for half an minute to ensure the optimal duration of the drug. Do not swallow it! In this case, acute poisoning can develop. Treat it with sorbents that prevent absorption of iodine, and diuretics that help to remove it from the body. Particular care must be taken to ensure that the baby does not swallow the liquid during rinsing. Do not allow the product to enter the eyes. If this does happen, flush them with plenty of water.

"Yoks" can not be used to treat those who suffer from hyperthyroidism, kidney and heart failure, and also patients with hypersensitivity to iodine. It can not be prescribed with laryngitis. The use of the drug is prohibited for nursing mothers and women waiting for the child: the drug "Yoks" during pregnancy can harm the fetus, as its constituents freely penetrate the placenta. In this case, to treat diseases of the throat and oral cavity, you must choose a different, safer antiseptic.
