Drug "Chondrohard": instructions for use, a description of the drug, its analogs, reviews and contraindications

The modern sedentary lifestyle predicts in the future problems with the joints and the spine. Already, half of the people on the whole planet have a lack of motor activity, which certainly affects the health of bones, and, indeed, of the whole organism. People are forced at a young age to take drugs to strengthen the cartilaginous tissue of the joints. One of these medicines is the "Chondroguard". Instructions for the use of this drug are of interest to many, so consider it in more detail and find out all the pitfalls.

Composition and effect of the preparation

High molecular weight mucopolysaccharide chondroitin sulfate is the active substance of the drug "Chondrohard". Instruction for use reports that this substance affects the metabolic processes in the cartilage of joints, reducing degenerative changes and restoring cartilaginous tissue. This is due to the stimulation of the synthesis of proteoglycans, which are responsible for the formation of hyaline cartilage. Synovial membrane does not prevent the penetration of the drug to the site of degenerative-dystrophic disease.

After intramuscular injection, the substance enters the blood after 30 minutes, and after 48 hours completely penetrates into the articular cartilage. Chondroitin sulfate accumulates in the synovial fluid, which contributes to the preservation of a long therapeutic effect. Soreness and lack of mobility of the joints disappear within 2 weeks after the first administration of the drug "Chondrohard". Instruction for use promises that after 3 weeks of injection, all symptoms of synovitis will disappear.

Indications for prescribing the medicine are:

  • Osteoarthrosis of peripheral joints;
  • Intervertebral osteoarthritis;

The drug is issued in only ampoules containing a solution for intravenous or intramuscular injection. Typically, injections of "Chondrohard" are given every other day at a dose of 100 mg. Enter the contents of the ampoule without dilution, slowly, gradually. If the drug is well tolerated by the body, the dose can be increased to 200 mg in one dose, starting with 4-5 injections. The course of treatment with chondroitin sulfate is 25-30 injections. A second course of treatment can begin at least 6 months later.

Contraindications and other recommendations for treatment with the drug

Who does not want to prescribe the drug Chondrohard? Instruction for use prohibits the receipt of a medical product by persons suffering from thrombophlebitis, bleeding, hypersensitivity to the active substance. Also, injections do not make children, pregnant women and nursing mothers.

The medicine can cause some side effects, for example, hives, itchy skin, dermatitis, hemorrhages at the injection site. However, these phenomena are rare, since the drug does not have a strong systemic effect on other organs and tissues.

Joint use with drugs that dilute blood (anticoagulants, fibrinolytic) is highly discouraged, as there may be an increase in their therapeutic effect. It is best to do an analysis of blood clotting parameters before starting a course of therapy.

The drug "Hondroguard". Instructions for use. Reviews

In most cases, when performing injections, patients noted a rather good effect after 10 injections: the aching pain receded, the motor activity of the affected joint was restored, the inflammation decreased, and the general well-being of the patient improved. No patient has been diagnosed with a drug overdose, side effects are also rare. Great disadvantages people consider the high price of the drug and the fact that it is released only on prescription. This is what makes many people look for cheaper analogs that can be bought without a prescription.

Does the drug "Chondrogard" have analogues?

This tool has a mass of substitutes, which are available in various dosage forms. The most common accurate analogue can be called "Mukosat" medication. The active substance in it is also chondroitin sulfate, obtained from the trachea of cattle. The indications and contraindications for these two drugs are the same. The essential difference between the drug "Mukosat" only is that it is produced not only in ampoules, but also in tablets or capsules. At the same price, the medication is only slightly inferior to the drug "Chondrohard", but it can be bought in a pharmacy without giving a prescription.

A popular analogue for the active substance can also be called "Chondroxide". It is available only in tablets, which should be taken 2 times a day. As the drug enters the digestive tract, side effects may occur in the form of nausea, vomiting and diarrhea.

Medication "Hondrolon" is a substitute, which is also used only as injections. Other forms, for example, ointments or tablets, do not exist. Before performing pricks with this drug, it is necessary to dilute the solution in the ampoule. Usually one ampoule is mixed with 1 ml of water for injection.

The substitutes for Hondroguard are still drugs "Artradol", "Structum", "Kartilag Vitrum".

Analogues are just as good?

If we talk about the substitutes that have the same composition with the drug "Chondrohard", then we can say that they differ only in name and manufacturer. The higher cost of the drug does not indicate its best effect. Sometimes even the cheapest analogue helps faster. Still, do not forget that only a doctor, based on the characteristics of your body, can prescribe and select you medicines. This is typical for substitutes for the main drug.

As for medicines similar to the produced therapeutic effect ("Alflutop", "Ibuprofen", "Khondramin"), they are not able to restore cartilaginous tissue. These drugs have anti-inflammatory and analgesic effect and do not eliminate the cause of the disease.
