Any non-alcoholic soft drinks are always very popular, but especially the demand for them increases in the summer heat. The store shelves are full of various carbonated drinks and lemonades, but, as you know, there is not much useful in them. Rather, they can be attributed to the products are not food, and the chemical industry, because they contain many additives and dyes.

Is it not better to make lemonade from oranges or other citrus fruits at home and get not only a delicious, quenching thirst toning drink, but also replenish your body with vitamins? Home-made lemonade has an excellent taste and aroma, and, most importantly, it does not contain any chemicals and preservatives.

How to prepare lemonade

Prepare lemonade from oranges, lemons or limes very simply and quickly. But to make a really useful and tasty drink and get maximum pleasure from it, you need to take into account some of the subtleties:

  • Citrus fruits should be ripe and without rot;
  • Bones from them must necessarily be removed;
  • Juice should not be taken in a cardboard box, but only freshly squeezed;
  • Water used boiled or filtered, can be carbonated;
  • To lay ice;
  • Serve homemade lemonade from oranges in beautiful glasses, decorating them with imagination - citrus slices, sprigs of mint and sugar rim.

Traditional recipe for orange lemonade

To make this delicious drink you will need 4 large oranges, 10 liters of water, 700-800 g of sugar and citric acid (not more than 10 g).

The recipe for lemonade from oranges is so simple that any novice mistress will master it, and the result will surpass all your expectations:

  • Oranges should be washed and boiled;
  • After they cool, they need to be placed in the freezer for 10-12 hours;
  • Taking them out of the fridge, they are again covered with boiling water and cut into pieces;
  • Cutted oranges, together with the peel, are ground in a blender or with a meat grinder;
  • Formed gruel pour cold boiled or filtered water (3 liters) and leave for half an hour;
  • Then, using gauze or a fine sieve, the infusion is filtered and the remaining 7 liters of water, sugar and citric acid are added to it.

An hour later, homemade lemonade from oranges is ready. To make it even more tasty and natural, citric acid can be replaced with juice squeezed from one lemon.

Gourmet Drink

There is another interesting recipe for orange lemonade.

To make it, you need to take one piece of orange and lemon, 250 g of orange juice (freshly squeezed), 1 glass of sugar and 2 cups of water.

With one quarter of the lemon, you need to peel the zest, add it to the container, where water and sugar are mixed, and boil. After that, boil on low heat for another 5 minutes, remove from the plate, cool and strain the resulting syrup. Then add the orange cut into slices, juice and ice cubes. Orange lemonade is ready for use!

If you do not really like citrus bitterness, which gives zest, then it can be extracted from the syrup immediately after it boils.

Naturally, lemonade can be cooked not only from oranges. Saturation and piquant sourness is given to this drink by lemons. The combination of these two citrus makes lemonade even more vitaminized and fragrant.

Lemon-orange mix

To prepare lemonade from oranges and lemons, take 3 oranges, 2 lemons, 150-200 grams of granulated sugar and 3.5 liters of water.

Pour the required amount of water into a saucepan and put on a fire. While it boils, wash the citrus and squeeze out the juice from them. Do not discard the remaining zest, but cut into small pieces. When the water boils, put the crushed zest into it and cook for no more than 10 minutes, then add the sugar, stir and remove the saucepan from the fire. After the infusion has cooled, strain it and add the juice - lemonade from oranges and lemons no longer requires your participation. Now just enjoy a natural drink.

Refreshing cocktail

A highlight in this drink is peppermint. You will need 3 oranges, half a lemon, 4 tbsp. Spoons of sugar, half a liter of water (carbonated), mint (a few twigs) and ice. Citrus and sugar mix well in a blender, making fresh. Separately, grind the ice. Several leaves of mint must be cut, crushed with a mortar and put on the bottom of the glass. Top with ice and let stand for a couple of minutes. Then add fresh to taste and pour mineral water. The lemonade obtained from the oranges should be mixed and served as a cocktail with a tube, for decoration taking a sprig of mint, as well as a slice of lemon and orange.

Options for lemonade from citrus fruits

Many refreshing drinks are based on citrus fruits. And this is not surprising. After all, these fruits are not only the most affordable now and are present on the shelves of stores all year round, but also very useful. Vitamins and minerals that form part of them play a huge role for the human body, and drinks made from citrus fruits perfectly quench thirst and exert a tonic effect.

In addition, while preparing lemonade from oranges, you can also experiment: add to the drink not only lemons and limes, but also strawberries, kiwi, ginger, green tea or pineapple juice, changing the taste and aroma. Fantasy here is unlimited, and such a lemonade not only saves you from thirst, but it is an indispensable drink for any festive feast.
