Doctor's call - first aid for stroke

Stroke, despite a huge number of different methods of treatment, a variety of medications, remains one of the most complex diseases. And the difficulty lies, as in the process of treatment itself, and in the rehabilitation cycle after the disease itself.

It seems that modern medicine has been able to defeat many diseases, but it is in the face of a stroke that many, even veteran doctors, are being grazed. This situation develops because a stroke is a pathological process in which an acute disorder occurs in the spinal cord or brain. This development of the disease involves immediate treatment, first aid for stroke should be given in the first three hours, but not everyone can recognize the disease itself at the beginning.

The main symptoms of the disease are very blurred. There may appear an uncharacteristic drowsiness for the person, or vice versa, excessive, even hyperactivity. Nausea, vomiting, sweating, fever, dry mouth, palpitation, and sometimes short-term loss of consciousness accompany the onset of a stroke. Violation of speech, partial paralysis of the limbs, a decrease in the level of vision accompany the onset of a stroke. Often, the disease occurs in people who already have certain diseases, and many consider malaise as symptoms of very different illnesses.

In addition to these symptoms, there is a violation of consciousness, and the person himself can not determine that a stroke occurred. The patient needs emergency first aid for stroke, which largely depends on life.

How to determine the first sign of a stroke? For this there is a simple and accessible technique called "UZP", which stands for smiles, talking and raising both hands. All these three actions must be asked to make a person who you suspect a stroke.

When stroke often develops right-sided or left-sided paralysis. With a smile, you immediately see an asymmetry - one of the corners of the lips can be omitted, part of the face, as inanimate, as after anesthesia in the dental.

Then ask the patient to clearly repeat for you any imaginary phrase. Listen carefully to what speech a person has. If he stumbles, words are like "porridge" - this is another sign of a stroke. Immediately ask the person to stick out his tongue. It's bad if the tongue has an obviously wrong shape or leaves on one side.

Now ask him to raise both hands up. Look behind the progress of their movement, if the arms go up unevenly, then this is most likely the next sign of a stroke. You can also ask to stretch your arms forward and close your eyes, if by themselves the hands begin to diverge or, as it were, fall on one side - this too may be a sign of a stroke.

Now the most important thing. The presence of any of the listed symptoms or abnormalities can be caused by a stroke. The question of how to help the patient and what to do in case of stroke has only one answer: "Call a doctor immediately!" Only qualified first aid for stroke will bring the result.

Do not give in to the persuasion of the patient that everything will now pass, that he has already become better, that there is no reason for excitement. Do not listen to him and do not support the same frivolous associates. Remember that the consciousness of a sick person is vague, and he is not able to assess his physical condition.

Calling an ambulance, pay attention to all the signs found. Try to argue reasonably that you need specialized first aid for stroke.

Recently, a strange situation has developed, when a doctor's call is perceived as a kind of difficulty. And completely forget that a doctor is not just a help, but in this case saving lives.
