Dmitry Belkin (Orekhovskaya OPG): biography, photo, court and punishment

One of the most elusive Russian gangsters was caught and convicted in 2013. Belkin Dmitry Konstantinovich, Belok, as he was called in narrow criminal circles, terrorized Russia since 1990, always coming out of the water. This article talks about the rise and fall of this brutal bandit.

Dmitry Belkin: "the beginning of a career"

In the early 1990s, three major organized criminal groups operated on the territory of Moscow and in the vicinity: Odintsovo, Orekhovskiye and Galyanovskie.

The Orekhov group, led by Sergei Timofeev at the time with the bandit nickname Sylvester, was at war with the Galyanov group. Odintsovo gang was created by Dmitry Belkin himself. It included his close friends who joined them retired military special forces, among them Oleg Pronin, known in the criminal world by the loud nickname Al Capone.

Odintsovo was a fertile land for robbery and extortion, than successfully engaged Dmitry Belkin. Protein, whose biography from the childhood was full of articles of the criminal code, chose this region not by chance. In the early nineties, Odintsovo was considered to be the elite district of Moscow, where grassy institutions and recreation areas were located, whose owners were in a semi-legal state, and therefore they were defenseless before such as Belkin. But he was not going to stay in the role of an ordinary racketeer-extortion all his life. Noticing the confrontation between Orekhovsky and Galyanovsky, he decided to use this conflict for his own mercenary purposes, namely, to advance along the Moscow criminal ladder.

Association with Orekhovsky

Belkin was thinking about supporting one of the factions, thereby enlisting their support in the future, and maybe even leading it under their humble beginnings. Of the two gangs, Belok chose Orekhovskaya. In principle, the choice of the leader of Odintsovo is not surprising, because its leader, Sylvester, in fact, in his time achieved what so himself wanted Dmitry Belkin.

Protein, whose biography speaks in favor of his intellect, understood that the Orekhov group was one of the oldest in Russia. It began to operate in the early 1980s, with the appearance of the first cooperatives. Then Sergei Timofeev robbed private drivers at stations, extorted money from small traders. In the late 80's, Sylvester was sentenced for a short time for extortion, along with then-leader Mikhailov, who at one time joined the group with the Solntsevs.

Sylvester well mastered all of Mikhailov's lessons and went free not as a "pheasant", but as a bandit gangster, immediately engaged in the unification of the gang that had already disintegrated by that time. Already in 1991, the newly reassembled Timofeev Orekhovskaya group again horrified the entrepreneurs of Moscow. But on their way to gaining influence and control, the Galyanovskaya gang rose up, not far behind Orekhovskiy's strength.

Here in the arena and there is a greyhound Belkin, offering Sylvester his feasible assistance, which Timofeev takes. Uniting with Odintsovo, the Orekhovo group wins the confrontation with the Gal'yanovskys, completely dislodging them from their positions.

Recognition of Timofeev as an authority

The Orekhov group was very unscrupulous. For them there was no thieves' law, nor any other norms of behavior of the criminal world; they committed robberies, robberies, murders and their main occupation - a recruitment - at any time of the day or night.

After strengthening their positions, the Orekhovskikh brigades completely lost control of reality. In 1993, they committed a completely defiant crime, both in terms of law and the rules of the criminal world. They killed the leader who had not recognized their supremacy in the thieves' world as a thief in the law of Viktor Kogan, nicknamed Monya. Monya was the director of the firm "Argus", which was engaged in gambling.

Breaking into the Kogan, the bandits did not just shoot the lawyer, but did it with particular cruelty, shooting him at point-blank range already lying on the ground, and then they beat the entire gambling hall with bats, began to rob ordinary passers-by passing by. The executors managed to detain the law enforcement bodies, but they could only be convicted for hooliganism, as there was no direct evidence of the murder of Monee by the police.

Lawlessness Orekhovsky disturbed not only the police, but the underworld, so Sylvester had to put things in order in their ranks. By the end of 1993 he managed to gain recognition of his authority among all the brigades, after which the Southern District of Moscow ceased to be the most criminogenic region of the city. But Moscow calmed down for a little while.

The rise and fall of Sylvester

Timofeev did not rest on his laurels, he was not enough to head the largest criminal grouping of the Southern District of Moscow, he wanted to be the main authority of the whole city. To this end, Sylvester went to the United States, where, in the opinion of narrow criminal circles, Vyacheslav Ivankov, the successor to the famous Japanese , visited him (he was visited by Timofeev) and gave him the go-ahead for running the whole city.

Perhaps this trip was the fatal mistake of Sylvester. At that time, the Orekhovo group was, although it was the largest, but did not have unprecedented influence in the whole city. Defending their interests, representatives of competing groups began to fear for their zones of influence.

Returning from America, Sylvester was shot in his Mercedes car. Who ordered the murder of Sylvester, is unknown until now. After all, by and large, it could have been done by anyone - Timofeev had plenty of enemies. And among their own were brigade leaders who disliked the leader.

The development of the cold and unprecedented tactics of Belkin

Dmitry Belkin (Orekhovskaya OPG has always been under his close attention) followed the career of his authority Sylvester. You can even assume that he admired him. And on the mistakes Timofeev Belkin learned, which helped him to reach all his further heights in the criminal world. Looking at the affairs of Sylvester, Dmitry Belkin (the nut gangs then did not obey him) understood that nobody can be trusted, and the only way to stay afloat is to physically eliminate all his competitors and ill-wishers.

After the death of Sylvester, Belkin quickly together with other Odintsovo, using the disorder and vacillation among the Okho-Khan who started the war with each other for the crown of the group, began to eliminate all the competitors of the former single Orekhovskaya OPG. Seeing the results that Dmitry Belkin achieved, the nut teams whose bruises suffered from lawlessness began to join Odintsovsky. Soon Belkin managed to restore the Orekhovo OPG already under his clear leadership.

A reliable method

By his own forces, Belkin, Orekhovskaya OPG, which began to control 75% of the city's business, managed to become Moscow's most influential gangster. And it was possible all this Belka thanks to his tactic of complete unprincipled and cunning. Approximate killer Belkin, Lyosha Soldat, carried out several high-profile murders of recalcitrant businessmen, while retaining complete secrecy, using his past special-task skills. The soldier pretended to be an antisocial element, a homeless person or an alcoholic who loitered near the habitat of the victim. Taking advantage of the moment, until no one saw, the killer killed an unsuspecting victim.

Strengthening the influence of the Orekhovo OPG

By such actions, Dmitry Belkin (Orekhovskaya OPG was already under his complete control) made others fear and respect themselves. According to the assassin himself, Leshy Soldat, he did not always have to kill a man to take away business, he just came to his house with a bottle of wine and a cake (or other sweetness). The owner of the business understood the purpose of the Soldier's visit perfectly, but at the same time he saw that the killer gave him a chance to avoid reprisals. As a rule, as a result of such a visit, the entrepreneur voluntarily gave his business, while preserving the life of himself and his loved ones. Taking away business from Moscow's influential businessmen, Belok received incalculable profits and gained leverage not only in the city, but throughout the country and abroad, which allowed him to remain unconvicted and manage his criminal group for so long. Orekhovskaya OPG today still has weight in criminal Russia.

With the rebels and dissenters in their ranks, Belkin understood openly with all his comrades-in-arms, with the hands of those closest to the victim. For these purposes, Belkin arranged for the collection of his gang somewhere in a place remote from prying eyes under the pretext of cultural rest. But the members of the Orekhovo OPG knew perfectly well why they were being collected. Then Belok announced the name of the objectionable one and ordered the most sympathetic members of the gang to kill him. This style of violence was inherent in the Italian mafia of the 30s. Apparently, Belok was well aware of their strategy. Thus the ringleader had the opportunity to verify personally that the traitor's inner circle remained faithful to him.

Belkin under suspicion of investigation

In 1998, law enforcement agencies managed to find a clue to attract Dmitry Belkin to criminal liability. Investigator Yuri Kerez was able to interrogate one of the captured killers of the Belka gang, who surrendered his leader. When Kerez called Belkin for interrogation, the self-confident bandit appeared to the investigator with a bag containing one million US dollars. With these money, Belok, whose Orekhovo OPG was determined to continue his criminal activities, wanted to buy his freedom, as well as get a heinous traitor.

But Kerez was incorruptible. Then Belkin hired killers to eliminate him. Despite the investigator's experience, the investigator was unable to discern the killer, who pretended to be another drunk bum, and he was shot at his house. The very same Squirrel managed to escape and leave Russia. Belka and his chief assistant Al Capone, tracked down for 12 years, during which Belkin (Orekhovo OPG at the same time continued to function successfully) lived along the line of fictional foreign names. And what is most interesting, safely managed his criminal structure in Russia through coherent.

Detention of Belkin

One of these co-operatives led the task force to Belk's track, who was to be arrested in Paris, where he had come to discuss the cases. But the detention did not take place, since, after realizing that something was wrong, Belok escaped.

Yet in 2012, in his country estate was detained Dmitry Belkin. Protein, whose photo speaks of his absolute confidence in his impunity, was deeply surprised by his arrest, but remained calm, as he was confident that he would pay off. After lengthy negotiations with the Spanish Kingdom, Dmitry Belkin, whose nut cohesives were already detained, was extradited to Russia.

Court and sentence

Upon arrival in Russia, Belkin was placed in custody and began to prepare for a loud court hearing. Everybody understood perfectly well that the trial of Dmitry Belkin would not be easy, because the Belka can have connections in Moscow, and throughout Russia at any level. Therefore, it was important to enlist the support of these impartial jurors.

Surprisingly, the jury, who was offered to take part in this case, began to refuse to participate in the case one by one, resigning. The investigators did not take into account that it was much easier for Squirrel to intimidate simple and unselfish juries, rather than try to bribe them. Only with the sixth attempt was possible to collect 12 jurors.

The trial of Dmitry Belkin recognized the bandit and his companion Pronin as guilty of a whole series of crimes, including 22 premeditated murders, an attempt on a police officer, extortion and other criminal actions. The jury's verdict was unanimous - life imprisonment.

To be continued?..

But the conclusion of Belka and Al Capone did not stop the activity of the Orekhovo OPG. Three days later the lawyer of the victim was killed. Apparently, Squirrel manages to manage his gang and from places of detention. Of course, Orekhovskaya OPG is no longer such a powerful criminal structure as before, but its influence remains significant in Moscow and its environs.
